Creepiest of all is it can tell, from your public IP address, where you are located geographically, to within a couple of miles, maybe less.
There's no magic involved. EVERY WEBSITE YOU VISIT can do exactly the same thing. The information is provided automatically by your browser and ISP -- it's a standard part of the web browsing process.
You can use an "anonymizer" proxy server to avoid that, but there are downsides to that as well.
