Good video. Surprised by the honest CNN comment at the end. GWB’s relationship with the military was the reason I voted for him in 04 (I didn’t vote for him in 00). Kerry would have gotten the same reaction as Obama, and much as I didn’t like GWB’s overall performance, I felt I owed it to the men and women in combat to keep GWB as their commander. I’m glad I did. His second term was much more effective in the Iraq theater.

I have a question for the Marines posting on this thread. When the Marine outside Marine one salutes the “O” he does a very slow salute, sort of the way they salute a coffin. I seem to remember the salutes for President Bush being the standard salute and President Bush usually saluted back or acknowledged the Marine in some fashion. So as I missing something?

I don’t think this video is as revelatory as people think.
It appears that the Marines greeting President Bush were in the position of parade rest, which means they can react the way they did.
In the President Obama clip, they were in the position of attention, which means they can’t react.

The contrast between the receptions of Bush and Obama can only be described as....stark. Not even all the pomp and circumstance with which Barry surrounded himself was enough to convey the appearance that he has ANY support from the military.
