In a recent Wall Street Journal Opinion Editorial titled, Deficits and Fiscal Credibility,, Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) presented his reasons for advocating a No vote on the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009. Senator Bayh asserted, Our nations current fiscal imbalance is unprecedented, unsustainable and, if unaddressed, a major threat to our currency and our economic vitality. The national debt now exceeds $10 trillion. This is almost double what it was just eight years ago, and the debt is growing at a rate of about $1 million a minute.
He went on to state, The bloated omnibus requires sacrifice from no one, least of all the government. It only exacerbates the problem and hastens the day of reckoning. Voters rightly demanded change in Novembers election, but this approach to spending represents business as usual in Washington, not the voters mandate.
Senator Bayh is said to have taken a prominent role in campaigning for President Obama in his home state. Yet, on this issue of fiscal responsibility and the economic and political health of our nation, Obama and Senator Bayh obviously dont see eye to eye. Senator Bayhs concern for our nations sovereignty is conveyed in the following statement wherein he references foreign investors holding such a large portion of Americas debt, This dependence raises the specter that other nations will be able to influence our policies in ways antithetical to American interests.

I hope and pray that we have more Dims see the light and turn on Obama. Our future is in their hands until the next election.
Sounds more Republican than Juan McCain, Snowe, Specter, Collins, Graham-nesty, Mel Martinez or Charlie Crist.
Good for you Evan!!
He’s running for president.
Even broken clocks are right twice a day...and he is right on this. We cannot keep spending the way we have for the past couple of decades.
Is this actually a true article?
I live in Indiana and this doesn’t sound like the liberal Bayh family that has been here for generations.
The first thing Evan Bayh did as governor was unionize all the state employees.......
I live in Indiana too, he probably received a ton of angry emails.
Yes, it is a Bayh article that was in the WSJ.
Yes it is. It is based upon Senator Bayh’s WSJ Article:

I’m hearing Bayh is wavering on his support of the Employees Free Choice Act. I haven’t found any statments from his office to support this claim though.
Bingo! Bayh sees an opening and he's running for daylight.
That’s one for Bayh. Don’t go wobbly, Senator.
“Employees Free Choice Act”
Congress can’t even tell the truth in the title to a bill.
I don’t think Sen. Nelson D- FL can vote for it. The Cubans will vote him out.
2010—he was elected to the Senate in the same election cycle that Bunning got elected to the Senate here in Kentucky.. Evan Bayh has legitimate fiscal conservative credentials. As governor of Indiana for two terms, he never raised taxes and cut them about five times. He has genuine fiscal conservative bonafides, and this is a genuine no vote on the Omnibus bill, given his background..
As Rush pointed this out with irony yesterday, will the lamestream now jump all over Bayh and proclaim that he wants 0bama to fail? Will Step-on-all-of-us question other Dems with the “Are you going to follow your colleague Bayh and hope that 0bama fails?” charge this Sunday?
