As usual when Muslims complain about what offends them, they get their way. This time they were upset that a Catholic newspaper had been using the word "Allah" in reference to God. In response the Malaysian government has ordered the paper not to print the word "Allah" anymore.

I’m not sure I get this. Their word is Allah. I don’t call God Allah b/c I equate that name with their bastardized, Satanic faith.
“Allah” is the word for “God” in the Malay language, just as it is in Arabic. Moslems don’t have a monopoly on it.
Abba
Recent scholarship has shown that, although the New Testament was written in Greek, the main language that Jesus and his disciples spoke was undoubtedly Aramaic, an ancient regional language. The Aramaic word Abba appears three times in the New Testament (Mark 14:36, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6) and each time it is immediately translated as Pater for readers unfamiliar with Aramaic. It seems that when Jesus spoke of God as Father in Aramaic, he used the term Abba. It is particularly remarkable, then, that Abba is an intimate word for father. It indicates some of the very first syllables a baby might pronounce in reference to his father something like Daddy or Papa, but even more like Dada.
God, the Father of Jesus and his disciples, is Dada.
I agree with you, but here is their problem.
According to Fr. Andrew, “in the local Malaysian language, there is no other term besides Allah to refer to God.”
Hi,
Here is the problem with this.
According to Fr. Andrew, in the local Malaysian language, there is no other term besides Allah to refer to God.
You are very informed!!
Islamists think that they have a monopoly on everything. lol!
LOL!! That would be great, I would love to see their reaction.
When I worked in Detroit, I worked with a Christian Iraqi and a Marianite Christian from Lebanon. They said that the name Middle Easterners normally use for God is Allah. It’s similar to the Hebrew word for God, “El”. (Of course, they wouldn’t use “God”, since that’s English.)
Thanks for that. I know some Iraqi Christians who were here before the war. They also lived in some other ME countries. They cannot believe that what they escaped from in the ME has started here.
The top daddies in the RoP mafia here in Indonesia tried to pull the same stunt, after Malaysia, but were smacked down quickly by local church leaders.
In Indonesia and Malaysia, “Allah” is used by Christians to refer to God, but not as often as “Tuhan”, more acurately translated as Lord. The use of “Allah” by Christians predates the infliction of islam upon this earth.
Chris,
I like your website. I added it to my favorites.
Have you read Islam and Terrorism by Mark Gabriel?
It was very eye-opening for me.
Good to hear some Church leaders taking a stand.
Hi FS,
I have not read that one, I recently received Spencer’s new book Stealth Jihad. It is amazing how they are changing the USA without firing a shot.
Thanks for the kind words,
Chris
I didn’t understand their beef to begin with and this makes it weirder yet. I am starting to think most Muslims really are kooks.
Actually, where this whole “nightmare” started is that when English speaking people were attempting to translate the Arabic language, they ended up generically using their term Allah for “God” so that many people do confuse the Arabic god, Allah,” with the one true, God, who is Father, Son, AND Holy Spirit. I have read this in a few very reputable history books. It makes sense. Moreover, most Arabs have no idea what is in the Qu’ran either. They just go by the Imams and the Hadith.
They look to dominate, that is what their religion calls for. It seems most of the them agree, because they are always silent on issues like this. We never hear the “moderates” speaking out against imposing on non-Muslims.
I am not even sure I believe in something called a “moderate Muslim.”
For arguments sake lets say that they are out. We certainly cannot count on them.
