The Left's Tired War On Rush Limbaugh
The Bulletin ^ | Wednesday, March 04, 2009 | Jonah Goldberg

Here we go again. Rush Limbaugh is public enemy No. 1.

Liberal bloggers and media chin-strokers are aghast at Mr. Limbaugh’s statement that he hopes Barack Obama fails.

Well, given what Mr. Obama wants to do, I hope he fails too. Of course I want the financial crisis to end — who doesn’t? But Mr. Obama’s agenda is much more audacious. Pretty much every major news outlet in the country has said as a matter of objective analysis that Mr. Obama wants to repeal the legacy of Ronald Reagan and remake the country as a European welfare state. And yet people are shocked that conservatives, Mr. Limbaugh included, want Mr. Obama to fail in this effort?

What movie have they been watching? Because I could swear that opposing the expansion of big government is what conservatives do. It’s Aesopian. The scorpion must sting the frog. The conservative must object to socialized medicine.

Besides, since when did hoping for the failure of ideological agendas you disagree with become unpatriotic? Liberals were hardly treasonous when they hoped for the failure of George W. Bush’s Social Security privatization scheme.

Regardless, the war on Mr. Limbaugh from the left is a tired rehash. In 1995, Bill Clinton tried to blame the Oklahoma City bombing on Rush. In 2002, then-Sen. Tom Daschle, the leader of the Democratic opposition, claimed that Mr. Limbaugh’s listeners weren’t “satisfied just to listen.” They were a violent threat to decent public servants like him.

When will the left start debating Rush on the issues? The answer? Never! They would lose big time!

Liberal bloggers and media chin-strokers don’t have the intellect or knowledge Rush has. They will slam him till the end of time but will NEVER debate him. Libs don’t like facts or truth.

I would love a nationally televised debate between Rush and Hussein on every issue. Rush would tear the fraud to shreds. Rush should challenge Bambi to a TV duel.

When will the liberals realize that Rush has said repeatedly that he doesn’t want Obama to fail, he wants his policies to fail. If Obama made choices that were good for the country, Rush would be behind him. He doesn’t want him to fail just because he is a democrat. Rush wants his socialism agenda to fail. Obama is bringing this country to it’s knees and people in congress are supporting it. Why wouldn’t any American want the destruction of our country to fail?

No teleprompters or notes allowed. It’s a “spoken words from heart battle”.

This is just part of the White House’s plan.

They are following Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals. Virtually every day, there will be something new agaisnt Rush. They are trying to “freeze” him and ultimately eliminate him.

PBS could actually live up to its mandate to educate and inform the public.

And Goldberg was doing so well, until his funny-car blew a rod at the finish line.
