I just heard Michael Steele on the Laura Ingraham show today respond to the DL Hughley's comment on 'the Republican Convention looking like Nazi Germany' by saying that there were only 36 black people at the convention, thereby implying that Hughley's comment was accurate and right on.
Then Steele went on to dismiss the comment and say that he didn't want to concern himself with the past and that he wanted to move forward.
Mr. Steele, there are certain comments that invoke the past that nobody should ever dismiss. Allowing any idiot to compare what you are paid to represent to Nazi Germany is totally unacceptable and should never be dismissed by you or any conservative or Republican.
Here are 10 reasons Mr. Steele, 10 characteristics of Nazi Germany or 10 ideas advocated by Hitler or Nazi Germany that conservatives or Republicans do not embrace and have never embraced and must always be rebuked:
1)Totalitarian government and a permanent one-party state
2)The emergence of a secret police (Gestapo)to intimidate the populace and detain, torture and execute political dissidents without trial
3)The Holocaust-the deliberate execution or genocide of millions of civilians
4)In the 1930's in any country of Europe you would find mostly white people living in Germany, France, or England. It was just the way it was. People with dark skins were not allowed or encouraged to European countries. it is what it was. In other words you could attend a soccer match in France or England and you would see mostly white faces.
5)Nazi Germany believed in eliminating the unfit, disabled or mentally challenged; your party Mr. Steele believes the opposite.
6)One of the primary goals of Nazi Germany and Hitler was world conquest. If anything one of the primary goals of many GOP members in the 1930's, although misguided, was isolationism. Mr. Steele, isolationism is certainly a naive policy, but at least it does not in itself cause the suffering and death of millions of noncombatants caught up in the middle of war zones.
7)Under George Bush, there were more African-Americans in his cabinet than any other administration. Did Hitler have any Jews or minorities in his cabinet?
8)Under Nazi Germany the military swore an oath to the Fuhrer. In America the military swears an oath to defend the Constitution and America.
9)The Nazi party was founded on and gain support based on the bitter grievances that emanated from WWI that the Allies imposed and thereby humiliated Germany and the German people; Mr. Steele the Republican party was founded as an anti-slavery party whose goal was not to see slavery expanded any further.
10)And finally Mr. Steele conservatives and most Republicans believe in the Declaration of Independence which says that man is endowed by God (natural rights)to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness while if the Nazi regime could be summed up by three thoughts it would be it believed in a culture of death and destruction; the suppression of liberty by the imposition of Fascism and arresting political opponents without trial, and that whatever happiness that was enjoyed by any German was at the pleasure of Adolf Hitler and must serve the needs of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany.
Mr. Steele, you should be ashamed of yourself for not being indignant. Sir, we expect much more out of the leader of the Republican party, as you say you are.
Exactly.
Yesterday, when he was on Hannity, he said, in effect, that house Republicans were going to be encouraged to lay off earmarks in the short term, so they could start again once they gained power back.
He’s a disaster and he should step down.
Michael Steele is panning out to be a real disappointment!
What was Laura's response to that?
It’s becoming obvious that Steele, like Geithner, is not ready for prime time. To have a head of the RNC who can’t appear on TV without damaging the GOP is ridiculous. He needs to resign or be fired.
Sadly true.
Yes, but the blacks are the bigots.
Blacks voted 96% for Obama against Hillary, an indestinguishable liberal. That is statistically impossible, but for the fact that blacks are overwhelmingly racist.
It’s the contra-example of Nazi Germany.
I guess Michael Steele just enjoys politely sitting there dodging arrows while the left works hard to excoriate Republicans with attacks on Rush Limbaugh and comparisons to Nazi Germany.
It’s time to “man-up” and fight back Mr. Steele...
Laura ignored the comment. Remember nobody is perfect. Neither is Laura.

"Now listen, you queer, stop calling me a crypto-Nazi or I will sock you in your goddamn face, and you will stay plastered."
William Buckley
He needs to change his name to Michael Jell-O
Hes completely unreliable, he is supposed to be a Conservative, at least that’s what everyone else said.
I saw Steele her in Maryland, and hes just a liberal in disguise.
He needs the boot.
A Maryland Rino. Fooled agained.
‘the Republican Convention looking like Nazi Germany’ by saying that there were only 36 black people at the convention,....
What an idiotic statement! Just because 36 black people are there only means that they believe in republican principles and have rejected deomcratic ideals. Conservatism doesn’t go looking for people, people come to it because they realize it to be a very sound way to run a country. I’m sick and tired of libtards basing everything on racism!
Only 36 Blacks at the GOP convention? Is Steele now advocating forced busing of Blacks to the convention to fix the inbalance?
He needs to go. I told him as much. chairman@gop.com
So she just did with Steele what Steele did with Hughley?Wasn't that the whole reason for having him on her show in the first place? Sheesh...
Where were the ovens?
Sorry to say, but the only people fooled by Michael Steele were the ones who did not do their homework.
