Obama Cap and Trade to Cause Americans to Pay $700 - $1400 More Per Year for Electricity - Video

Here is a video report from Fox News' "Special Report with Bret Baier" yesterday that takes a look at the enormous cost to American families of the coming "Cap and Trade" System that President Obama intends to impose on the country. As the report lays out, Obama himself said during the campaign that his Cap and Trade plan would necessarily cause electricity costs to "skyrocket."

In the report, one analyst says it would result in every American family paying an additional $700 - $1,400 every year! Once again, it's good to know we have an administration that is working hard every day to do what will stimulate job creation, promote business activity, and help American families (I'm being facetious!).

What of those customers whose electricity comes from hydro or nuclear? And since there is a national grid which receives and transmits power from all sources, how do we determine, fairly, who pays the increase?

We installed an add-on wood burning furnace this fall. The furnace and ductwork was half the price of filling our two 250 gallon heating oil tanks. Plus, wood is free for us, we just have to cut it. I think we might add a water heating tank to it next fall. Anyone have experience with these? Do they help lower the electric bill, or should we install an on demand water heater?

It’s a national sales tax on energy

there is nothing “climate saving” about it

and this new fascist scheme of energy price control by the obamites will come just as it become pretty hard to deny the earth may be in a historic maunder minimum and facing a new ice age...of all ironies

You can bet everyone pays. It is just a matter of how much. This not only hurts individuals, it hurts businesses, which must then pass on the increased costs to the consumers. Thus, the individual pays twice. Once for his own bill and second for the increased costs of goods and services due to higher utility costs.

Cheap energy is the lifeblood of an economy. This is not a welcome development.

Of course obama is doing exactly what he promised during the campaign. It will be interesting to see if his fan base ever catches on.

Good thing "The One" gave 95% of Americans a taxable $13 extra in their pay checks. That ought to at least buy them a good pair of warm socks to protect their feet from the falling ice sickles.

I’d say go with the water tank heating project. The on demand water heaters depend on the quality of your water. My well water has too many minerals in it, the heater will gum up with deposits. Also, can you switch your furnace to propane instead of fuel oil? Remember to remove the bark from the wood you burn, it drastically reduces the buildup up in your chimney, and let your cut wood cure covered but exposed to the air for a couple of seasons.

No worries! If you replaced all your old racist Edison bulbs with the new squiggly bulbs, you should be alright.
