GOP Chairman Michael Steele Calls Limbaugh Comments "Incendiary and Ugly" - Video 2/28/09

Here is video of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele talking with CNN's D.L. Hughley last night, and calling comments made by Rush Limbaugh during his speech to CPAC "incendiary and ugly." Steele said Limbaugh is not the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and that he is an "entertainter."

This is exactly the point Rush Limbaugh was trying to make in his speech. Republicans need to stop worrying about what the D.L. Hughley's think! They will never like conservatives or Republicans, because they are liberals! Steele should not have disavowed, in effect, what Rush said. He should have hammered home the core principles set forth by Limbaugh in his speech. . . . . (Watch Video)

Where are all those FRiends that where so excited that they named Steele to the job?

~raising hand~

I was wrong, very wrong, about Michael Steele. I watched the video and for him to make those remarks is dismaying, to put it politely.

...to put it impolitely - screw him.

I watched the short video and I didnt see Mike Steele make an attack on Limbaugh.

Good comment. As always, we are being manipulated by the msm and need to remember that.

Well said. I listened to the video twice and what I heard was Steele making a general statement, not just referring to the CPAC speech, that Limbaugh could be ugly and incendiary. I found him supportive of Limbaugh and his party.

Like all inside the beltway Repubs, Michael says what he “thinks” he must say to make inroads, in this case, wi’da’hood... notice that the main guy, Heugly or whatever his name is, says that MS is even smarter than what he thought after MS said what he said about RL. Personally, I like MS, but it is a human weakness that most suffer... to be liked. When will men and women stand on principal whether or not they are liked by others.

And what will OUR answer be to Steele and RNC when they call, or email, a Contribution REQUEST ?

My Answer: Mr. Steele's comments on CNN were uncivil and Derogatory towards True Republicans. These people want money from US ? We also want something from the RNC......respect for our "leaders in absentia"

I saw Michael Steele give a speech at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan before President Bush did when he was campaigning for his 2nd term. He was unknown to me. I was impressed.

Bringing forward these comments, losing his own political battle and his commentary/appearances on the FOX channel have diminished my hopeful impression of him.

The unprecedented attack/lie by American senators on a private citizen was a turning point in this nation’s history...AND we have signatures to prove it. Talk about “incendiary and ugly”.

These are REAL domestic internal/eternal enemies and THEY continue to operate to this day. They should be hounded, spoken about, laughed at and ridiculed until the day that free men die.

Man up Michael. Put some steel in that spine.

He should have just left it at “Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer”. No other comment was necessary.

I didn't even mind the "incendiary" word. We have Marxist thugs doing their best to flush this great country down the crapper. We don't need polite, cringing little criticisms. We NEED "incendiary" responses.

Where Steele went WAY WRONG was the use of the word "ugly". UGLY is what the Marxist thugs are doing every minute of every day AGAINST this country and it is NOT ugly to point that out.

When I got my usual donation request from the GOP last year, I stuffed the prepaid return envelope with “Jorge” and McPain pesos. I sent a note and the original envelope back. I also told them to take me off their lists and I will only donate to local Conservative politicians. Not a peep from them since.

Rush *could* be the “leader of the Republican Party” any time he wants to be. So could Ann Coulter.

Why even try to make Hughley understand us? He interrupts, his other guest interrupts and talks over Steele. They gang up on Steele, here, about a fourth party who could defend himself very well

Polite, no-waves Republicans who pander to the left are like the salt that lost its flavor, the luke-warm liquid that we spit out because it’s neither hot nor cold.

Michael, all “id”-eologies are not equal. Some are wrong. Don’t apologize for being Republican. Instead, *copy* Rush’s strong stand for the party begun on the principle of the right to life and liberty for all human beings.

Steele is having so much fun. Invited on all the shows, the pet of the msm. He usually praises O.

UGH

Wrong choice for all the wrong reasons.

So much for Mr. “Hip Hop” Republican. This is just disgusting. We can’t seem to get ANYONE in leadership who gets it.

incendiary

November 2008: Obama 365, McCain 173.

It would seem that someone needs to light a fire under the GOP. Their last contender didn't.

“Might I suggest a variant of the ‘L’ shaped ambush in lieu of the circular firing squad? Better for morale.”

I am amenable to any tactic that improves CONSERVATIVE morale without further beatings! LOL!

Apparently. I had higher hopes for him, but first he said we needed a “hip hop” Republican Party, now this nonsense. It’s clear we haven’t gotten through to these morons yet.

It looks like Steele is just another RINO drone.

If conservatives need a better example of why its PAST time to jump ship and let the rotten GOP ship of pandering fools flounder and sink, I don't what it could possibly be.
