Here is video of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele talking with CNN's D.L. Hughley last night, and calling comments made by Rush Limbaugh during his speech to CPAC "incendiary and ugly." Steele said Limbaugh is not the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and that he is an "entertainter."
This is exactly the point Rush Limbaugh was trying to make in his speech. Republicans need to stop worrying about what the D.L. Hughley's think! They will never like conservatives or Republicans, because they are liberals! Steele should not have disavowed, in effect, what Rush said. He should have hammered home the core principles set forth by Limbaugh in his speech. . . . . (Watch Video)

I just emailed Steele and gave him a piece of my mind. He is pitiful, spineless, and a disgrace.
I am disgusted.
Just another reason why I won’t be returning to the GOP camp any time soon. A train wreck still happening.......
I watched the short video and I didnt see Mike Steele make an attack on Limbaugh.
He agreed that Rush’s statement were incendiary. They were incendiary and thats what we need. We need enough incendiary statements to set the whole Conservative world on fire. We are drowning in Liberalism, We ar getting bills shoved down our throats as fast as Pelosi and Reid can think them up.
He argued with the creep aboput who is in charge of the Republican party, and stated he was in charge. He was correct. Now he needs to act like he is in charge and start using some incendiary statements of his own. Republicans stood by and took all the cow patties that the Democrats tossed at them for 8 year cringing in their offices like frightened children. Its time they stood up and tossed incendiaries enough to set the political world on fire.
Mike could have handled this a bit better maybe, but I wont concemn him yet.
Fire that lameass RNC leader. Fire him now!
Not me. He was NOT my first choice. I'd rather see a certain female governor.
Personally, I think one circular firing squad would do wonders for eleminating the RINOS. In fact, the more I think about it, the better it sounds. LOL!
I would dump Steele in a second if he turns out to be a rino.
But I need to hear more from him about this. Most of the clip shows him agreeing with Rush and countering the liberal commentator.
The only problem I see is that he called Rush’s comments “ugly.” It’s not clear exactly what he meant by it.
I got a call on Thursday to donate to the RNC. I told them to send me the info and I would see what I can afford. This makes me want to reconsider. That speech yesterday left me happy and hopeful...this statement by Steele deflated that balloon.
Might I suggest a variant of the ‘L’ shaped ambush in lieu of the circular firing squad? Better for morale.
I had hopes for Steele. No longer. The beltway, blueblood, country clubers are still running the show.
“incendiary and ugly.”
I have been wondering what Steel was about. He has revealed himself. There is still yet hope that he will see the truth.
It wasn’t precisely a “speech” - it was a presentation at a conference by somebody who is known for a certain style and wit. It was, in other words, one of Rush’s famous monologues, but just a little longer and with no commercial breaks.
That said, Steele doesn’t seem to have been objecting to the style, but to the content, which is the thing that really puzzles me.
When these Republican “leaders” are challenged to denounce Rush by the likes of Lap Dog Matthews and DL Hughley, they do not handle it correctly. DL Hughley has made much more incendiary statements against GWB and Conservatives in than Rush has made telling the truth about Liberals. Lap Dog Matthews has accused Bush and Conservatives of far worse as well. Both Hughley and Matthews need to be called out on it in front of their Maoist audiences. These Republican “leaders” should do a little research before they go on these crappy shows, and learn how to fight back with the truth.
“Perhaps Mr. Steele should be reminded that he can be replaced.”
Nope, should be replaced, now.
“Loyalty from the womb to the tomb,” regardless ot the truth and or rightous justice. Steele needs to be replaced asap with a brother/sister(black, white, asian, latin or other) with some backbone who, will truly represent the conservatives of America.
Looks like the high speed, low drag steele has fallen by the wayside.
Rise To The Challenge,
NSNR
Well Mr. Steele, Rush is not just an entertainer and his comments were not incendiary and ugly. You’ve just lost me as a supporter. Buh bye.
‘Sigh’ is right. Steele seemed at first to be backing Rush up...but then he ended on that spineless note. Very disappointing and dangerous to the republican coffers.
That's true, but I disagree with his use of the word incendiary in referring to Rush's speech. The word has a negative connotation - of stirring up to destruction and mob action - but Rush's speech was actually quite inspiring, and while it did try to encourage people to action, I didn't think the action in question was marching with pitchforks on the White House or its current occupant.
“Where are all those FRiends that where so excited that they named Steele to the job?”
To quote the words that keep my marriage happy, “I was wrong.”
I think I’m finished with the GOP. They are about to go the way of the whigs.
