Here is video of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele talking with CNN's D.L. Hughley last night, and calling comments made by Rush Limbaugh during his speech to CPAC "incendiary and ugly." Steele said Limbaugh is not the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and that he is an "entertainter."
This is exactly the point Rush Limbaugh was trying to make in his speech. Republicans need to stop worrying about what the D.L. Hughley's think! They will never like conservatives or Republicans, because they are liberals! Steele should not have disavowed, in effect, what Rush said. He should have hammered home the core principles set forth by Limbaugh in his speech. . . . . (Watch Video)

God give us men. The time demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith, and willing hands;
Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy;
Men who possess opinions and a will;
Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue
And dam his treacherous flatteries without winking;
Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
In public duty and in private thinking.
— Josiah Gilbert Holland. 1819-1881
Racism now raises its’ ugly and incendiary head as they once again try to play the “guilt” card on me. The poor dumb and useful idiots were coerced into “voting before thinking” based on their guilt.
Now Michael Steele has joined the McCain RINO’s just when it appeared he had half a brain.
We are not racists; we are just ordinary Conservatives seeking some serious leadership. Looks like he is not Steele.
Just PLASTIC.
I have a lot of courage when it makes me millions per year.
I agree with you. He let himself be drowned out, though. It was probably the shock of Hughley’s hairdo.
Steele needs to act like his name — and like Rush.
What is Steele, just another Section 8 Black “entrepreneur”?
I just watched it and talk about “much ado about nothing.” The interview itself was a joke and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
Way to go Mike, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Next contestant.
Steele must think that he is bigger than Rush.
Wait until Monday and Rush has his way with the RINO. Steele will be spending the next several months trying to patch up the damage he caused the GOP with his 15 second sound bite on CNN.
Watch donations to the RNC drop like a rock. Even Laura Ingram will take this fool to woodshed. And, imagine what Levin will say.
“The beltway types-—and that includes pols like Steele whose very livelihood depends on the Washington/NY Axis-—have completely been co-opted by the left.”

They share the same goal of a princely political position as a life career. George Washington, yearned mightily during his entire Presidency to get back to his farm.
We need to return to a system (via term limits?), in which individuals take a break from their REAL jobs to serve the country and then return to those jobs when their term limit has been reached.
“Steele will be glad to have Rush on his side when the time comes.”
And the time hasn’t come??
“This is, to be honest, a black guy talking ya-ya with other black guys and that kind of “dialog” never yields anything terribly useful.”
It sure a h*** didn’t yield anything useful this time (except to the other side).
Considering the corrupt, crime presently DOES pay. Who is making more, Rush or the porkers he rightly decries?
It takes no courage to do evil. It takes courage to take a stand against it.
Glenn Beck was ranting against Steele the other day on his program. He showed clips of what Steele had said (to appease conservatives), and then related that to what Steele is doing (not reigning in earmarks of GOP Congresscritters, etc.)
Steele’s just another “finger to the wind” politician, IMHO.
Mr Steele, Please take note. Rush is the defacto leader of the Republican party. How do you say? Bye! Bye!
oh brother
baloney.
Rush's BEING is ammo to the opposition.
"I can easily see how he made people on our side of the isle nervous."
Please don't include "us" in your RINO party....."our side of the isle". YOUR side perhaps.
"The speech was disjointed mishmash at best."
You obviously don't listen to Rush. If you did, you would not have made such a claim. It was Rush....without commercials and I only wished it was longer.
Rush has never claimed he is the de facto leader of the GOP.That Steele took offense at Hughley’s comment was stupid.
