Rush Limbaugh Wraps Up CPAC
Conservative Brawler ^ | February 28, 2009 | Conservative Brawler

This is Rush Limbaugh's speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, DC. It's no wonder the liberals have gone after Rush Limbaugh so vociferously in recent weeks. They need to silence him before the Obama sheeple start listening, truly listening, and snap out of their apathetic trance. Conservatives need more icons like Rush to champion their beliefs and values. The 2008 election would have been dramatically different had McCain possessed 1/10th of the passion and clarity of Rush Limbaugh.

This speech is truly stirring.

Included is the transcript and a downloadable version of the speech. Also included are the embedded youtube clips of the entire speech.

"If you play the video in Firefox, it will appear as a file in your cache folder."

Only the .asx file seems to be in the cache. The Windows Media Player streams the content, and if it makes a cache file anywhere, they hide it well.

If I had time I'd try it on my Mac but I'm running to catch a plane... I did try it in Firefox on Linux, and Safari on WinXP; same behavior.

Besides, to play it on my iPhone I think I'll need a different format than Windows Media. If Rush's web wizards would podcast-ify the speech video, that would be the most ideal solution.

You might need Quicktime Pro to save the file.

Where is says “download post” there is an option to save the file. You should be able to work it with your i-phone that way to my understanding.

And @ everyone else, let me just say that I think Rush’s speech seems to have re-ignited the conservative movement in America. He certainly has a checkered past but if Obama can get in office, then I’d go so far as to say personal history matters far less than it once did when seeking political office. Rush has the clarity and quick-wittedness to get through to the American people.

Did anyone notice, during his CPAC speech, someone yelled, “Rush for 2012!” ? Rush just smiled, paused and ignored the comment. I think it’s a very real possibility that he may run in 2012 - which makes it vitally important for conservatives to defend him when the liberal media start taking their shots.

That is a speech that should be enshrined along with JFK’s “Ask Not What Your country Can Do” speech.

Thank you for the link.

They're probably caching the file in a temp directory somewhere in the "Documents and Settings" directory tree. Unfortunately, the cached version will probably have its permissions set to locked and you won't be able to copy it. Google video streams behave in this way.

Did you try the DownloadHelper add-on?

Also, if you could get the video into a useable form on your hard disk, you might be able to convert it to an iPhone format, but since I haven't looked into this at all, I'm not sure about that.

Sorry not to be more help...

You can see the entire video in one flash page, and you can now purchase the DVD of the entire Rush CPAC speech at:

http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/index.php?main_page=product_video_info&products_id=284357-3&showVid=true

I just purchased it, since I rank this speech right up there with Reagan’s conservative speeches/writings.

Thanks, Tommy!

Actually, after some suggestions here, I added Download Helper to my Firefox browser. That let me save the YouTube videos to my hard disk. After installing its video converter option, I was able to convert them to iPhone format! And now I have a complete set of Rush’s CPAC wisdom in my pocket. I have Ann Coulter’s speech too! Also wonderful.

It would be nice to have it all in one piece however, rather than divided into 10 segments. Unfortunately Download Helper doesn’t seem to recognize the CSPAN full-length video. I’ll play some more.

I found the speech audio as a ‘cellecast’ in doing the same search for Rush CPAC audio download and found that I could hear it right over my speakerphone in my office, and make a comment on it that is published online.

This seems like a cool way to keep the news alive about what the debate is really about.

The Talk Radio industry is getting the word out slowly. This plug just came out today:

If we have just 10 people leave a talkback message, this might start a snowball effect in the news!
