STRAIGHT FROM CPAC: A Speech for the Ages From Rush

Cal Thomas:

Rush Limbaugh’s extemporaneous speech to CPAC was a tour de force. It was Reagan-plus. It had vision, passion, humor, ridicule (not only for liberals, but for “conservatives” and Republicans who want to accommodate rather than dominate) and power.

Congressional Republicans and those who seek the presidency ought to listen and re-listen to this speech.

Rush embodies real leadership: he knows where he wants the country to go and he is unapologetic about giving directions.

He properly ridiculed liberals for their abject and proven failure to deliver the poor from poverty and wondered why the poor continue to vote for Democrats when their position remains unchanged; at least it is unchanged for those who would rather accept a government check than do what is necessary to climb out of poverty.

Congressional Republicans and those who seek the presidency ought to listen and re-listen to this speech. It is the core of conservatism and it embodies not only the spirit of true conservatism, but the spirit of America’s past and America’s future, if we will embrace it.

"Is the video of this speech available online?"

You can stream it from his site, http://www.rushlimbaugh.com. You do not need to be a member of his Rush 24/7 club; any guest can watch. It's also up (divided into ten segments) on YouTube and several other sites and blogs.

What I want is a download link, though, so I can have a copy on my iPhone for long plane rides. Haven't found a link for that yet, though. If anybody knows of one, please advise!

I can’t believe how fat he’s gotten...We need him...I pray he takes care of himself.

I can't believe how fat the whole lineup of speakers and presenters were at the Rush speach.

Yes, I liked that line. The press sure isn’t going to hear that anywhere else.

That’s right...my dvr was only set until 6 so I watched again on C-SPAN. They also cut off Rush getting the award.

excuse me, but no amount of doctors can save you when your morbidly obese. When I see a man as heavy as rush, I see an unhappy man . I do not think rush is as happy as he wants his public to think he is. Fries that matter? No. But when someone is in your life three hours a day for twenty years you can’t help but to care for them.

He doesn’t have a personal pressure relief person. He also has the hearing issue, who knows how that really bothers him. All that fame and success and yet he’s almost deaf after having hearing for 50 years. Can’t enjoy music which he loves.

But I think he’s pretty hapy. He’s doing what he wants generally with the people he wants. He’s got trusted people who work with and for him and they are friends. He’s big on the rest of his family.

At the same time he is dealing with realities of life as everyone else does. I would bet he wishes he could find a woman who could complement him. I am sure he wishes he didn’t have the ear problem. I would bet he’s feeling issues related to getting older. His folks are gone. A personal role model, Bill Buckley, died last year. He has seen the country change as to allow a career like his to come about, only to see it turning into a socialist recast faster than anyone can blink. Achievers once looked at as people to aspire to are the ones that are why everyone else is poor and they must be punished.

Personally I think he’s probably fairly happy. No wants, no entanglements, no personal baggage spilling over into his career. He can set the terms for his life, pretty much. He can have pretty much what he wants, he has a lot of friends.

As fat Rush gave a talk at the podium, a fat guy sat to his right and a really fat lady to his left. At the end of his talk, three fat guys came up to give him an award, an original historic document signed by Ben Franklin. Even Franklin was fat.
