You are correct about the Abortion... that is Obama’s greatest failure.

However, given the jump of McCain and congress onto the original $700bn bill, I’m not sure THAT would be much better today... we might have had a $500bn Porculus instead of an X-Trillion one...

So, your original question was whether I thought McCain would be better than Obama overall, now you're changing to topic to whether McCain is better than Obama on last year's bailout.

On the bailout? No, McCain caved just as Obama did.

But whether McCain would be governing better than Obama is overall, certainly. There's a LOT of crackpot stuff Obama issued in the last month that McCain, even at his worst, wouldn't be caught dead supporting. And on the issue of ABORTION (which is the topic of this thread), McCain would undoubtedly be better than Obama.

So bottom line is the "conservatives" who claimed abortion wouldn't change whether Obama or McCain sat in the oval office were full of crap. I saw many posts arguing "stop trying to scare pro-lifers into voting Republican, it accomplishes nothing. No matter who wins, abortion will be the same as always". Bull. The rules, regulation, and funding of abortion is being altered by Obama even before Congress does anything on the issue. I hope the Bob Barr voters are proud of themselves. They "sent a message" about how they feel about the issues, alright.
