What Will Obama's Budget Cost You? $25,573.48... EACH!

Obama is about to unleash a $3.552 TRILLION budget on this poor nation. So, if we each of us were expected to fork over our share of that tab, what would it cost us? Well, according to Toby Harnden, blogger for the Daily Telegraph, it would amount to $25,573.48 each.

I don't know about you but, I just don't have it.

So how much will President Barack Obama's budget cost us? The projected 2010 budget of $3.552 trillion can be found on page 114 of the "New Era of Responsibility" budget here.

The US Census bureau estimates that the current US population is 304,059,724. Dividing the $3.552 trillion by that gives us close to the $11,833 that Drudge came up with. ABC's Jake Tapper reports that there wil be $989 billion in new taxes over the next decade.

I'm an American taxpayer and the starkest figure is what this could cost me. The latest figure I could find for the number of US taxpayers is 138,893,908 returns in 2007 here. By my reckoning, that's $25, 573.48 each.

I thought for a minute, “I can’t pay that and have anything left to live on”; then I realized that is the point. It’s flat-out communism. The government takes everything. Every damn dime. And then they decide what minor fraction to return to you to scrape out a substance living, unless, or course, you are in a favored class.

Great! When do I get my 25M is cash? Oh, you mean, I don’t?

Rats.

Lady Thatcher: “Sooner or later, you run out of other peoples’ money!”

Thanks, Mr. President. The markets love this.

Ugh.

PS: Check out Citigroup’s stock price this morning. What a mess.

As I understand this, and believe me I am not good at understanding, the tax would amount to $25,000 apiece if we all shared and shared alike.

We dont.

Some of us pay nothing, while others pay disproportionately.

Funny thing is those who do not work and accept socialism forget how these socialist countries work. These socialists pass out the fruits of other’s work to those who dont for only so long, until they start getting rid of and locking up those who dont participate. Think Gulag. Work Camps. Concentration camps , It’s been done before, suck them in to accept socialism then get rid of the drones.

Oh, you understand EXACTLY right! Those of us that actually do pay taxes would find the burden higher.

Remember this?

... that when a government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it...

By my reckoning, that's $25, 573.48 each.

You forget that most people who file returns do it to get a gubment check (tax credit) not because they pay taxes.

I'm in that top 10% that pays 50% of the bill, so I figure that this years tax liability for my wife and I (just this year and just federal) comes to $255,730.

I am glad to see this article. For weeks the GOP leaders have been talking on tv in terms of billions and trillions, figures that completely wash over most people. As Reagan said in his autobiography, you must relate this waste and debt in figures that ordinary Americans can understand.

The GOP should be pounding on the 25 K figure, not 3 or 4 trillion. Then they should look in the camera and ask the American people if they would rather keep the 25 K or let the government steal it from their children and grandchildren.

I believe the $25,000 figure is for those of us who actually pay taxes. The figure is $11,000 if you you count the whole population of the US. So that means that we who pay taxes are paying for the others who don’t, yet get to vote with our money.

The American people said they wanted “change”, but what they got instead was revolution. Comrade president Obama is Americas’ Vladamir Lenin.
