I'm not convinced about Sarah Palin though I like her, but from the get go her speech making skills were in evidence. Her first speech in Dayton was outstanding and her convention speech was great. Jindal did not have this laid on him at the last minute. He's an intelligent articulate guy, as evidenced in his appearances on MTP and FTN, but his effort was horrendous.

He had a deer in the headlights look. His voice quivered and his posture was weird. Much more effort should have been given to this speech. During Clinton's time one GOP response consisted of Christy Todd Whitman speaking from the New Jersey Assembly Hall, before a full house, with flags and Jersey Troopers flanking her. It was an impressive spectacle and boosted the GOP's as well as her image. Jindal's performance was poorly executed and more poorly planned. How do you spend six minutes of a 20 minute speech praising Obama for his American achievement? By the time he got into his opposition most people would have thought he was giving Obama a testimonial. Planning, perfomance, reactions. Poor all the way around.
