One has to wonder about the thought process of some people. Dan Gilgoff, Faith reporter with U.S. News and World Report and Huffington Post writer, is a perfect example of what I am talking about. After a February 23 posting on Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's Catholic faith, Gilgoff followed up the next day with a post claiming that Sarah Palin fans were smearing Jindal over his supposedly "secret Muslim" faith. Where did Gilgoff get such a ridiculous idea? Why, from just two commenters that posted on his entry of the 23rd, that's where.
That's right, just two people claiming in the comments section of his U.S. News post that Jindal was a secret Muslim was enough for Dan Gilgoff to decide that Sarah Palin's entire support base is smearing Bobby Jindal as a secret Muslim. Just two people. Two nuts is enough for U.S. News and World Report to slander Sarah Palin and all her followers as crazy, racist, hatemongers.
In his February 23 posting Gilgoff was saying that Governor Bobby Jindal is the "future of religious conservatives in the GOP." Gilgoff spoke to Jindal's Catholic beliefs and at the same time he mentioned Sarah Palin's "evangelical base" of support in the GOP...

Divide and conquer tactics from the left. Who is more likely to be a secret Muslim is Obama.
Most conservatives love Bobby Jindal, but our love for him does not mean we cannot be critical of his performance, which many of us were on the night of his rebuttal.
I am a Palin supporter and I love Tiger Woods. Why: it is not because of the color of their skin but the vividness of their presentation and when I do not like somebody or find contempt for someone such as Obama it is NOT because of the color of the skin but the tenor of their agenda and the ruthlessness of their heart and soul.
Thanks for posting. Very Interesting thread. Thanks Diogenesis. Thanks to all posters.
That it why I detest ‘white guilt’ (Obama’s SOTU completed a redemptive journey... )and I will endeavor to expose it wherever I find it.
If you’re only going to complain and find fault, without actually proposing who you *do* support - you’re being nothing but a termite.
Tearing down.
Weakening.
Either propose someone you support, or get out of the way.
Yabbut...!!
HolyO has them in the white house press corp as legitimate ‘journalists’ during his first tv presser, even specifically asking their ‘representative’ for *cough*STAGEDSTAGEDSTAGED* questions—IIRC, their bonehead asked about prosecuting Bush et al for war crimes, etc.—so HolyO has validated HuffPo as ‘professional’ reporters!! Give me a break!! O is so obviously sucking up to his far left extreme supporters this way, that’s about the only “transparency” I’m seeing in this administration!!
(Now my hands hurt from so many air quotes!!)
Sheesh no... I am suggesting that the conservative grass roots rally around one Conservative candidate in the (hopefully closed) primaries this time, not like 2008 where we were fractured between half dozen candidates and McCain got the nod.
Dan Gilgoff probably trolls his own blog, using his drag queen monikers when posts...
Yes, Jindal is a Christian of the Roman Catholic persuasion.
The story of his conversion, and his acceptance of Jesus as the Messiah is quite touching. Pay special attention to the last four paragraphs, which I excerpt below:
http://www.catholic.org/politics/story.php?id=28766
“I did not have an overnight epiphany like so many people do,” said Mr. Jindal, calling his conversion a “very intellectual-based journey,” where he studied countless religious texts. “Given my background and personality, that was an important part of the process.” But, he notes, “I don’t think you can ‘read’ yourself into faith. I had gotten to the point where I knew what history had to say about this person named Jesus and what he had done on Earth. . . . I think at some point you have to take a leap of faith.”
As a teenager, Mr. Jindal said he sought out chaplains at nearby Louisiana State University as he grasped for a religious identity to call his own. During a youth group’s Easter season musical production in 1987 at LSU’s campus chapel, a black-and-white video of the Passion played during intermission. “I don’t know why I was struck so hard at that moment,” said Mr. Jindal.
“There was nothing fascinating about this particular video. . . . But watching this depiction of an actor playing Jesus on the cross, it just hit me, harder than I’d ever been hit before,” he said. “If that was really the son of God, and he really died for me, then I felt compelled to get on my knees and worship him.”
“It was liberating,” said Mr. Jindal about his moment. “Up until that point, my prayer life was like a child talking to Santa Claus — making deals with God saying ‘I’ll be good, but this is what I want in return.’” Soon after, Mr. Jindal began to pray and fervently read the Bible, principally parables in the New Testament. “It was like the words were jumping out of the page. It was literally as if it had been written just for me,” he said.
Funny just this morning Politico put out a nice story about how Romney has now emerged as the frontrunner.
If the MSM really hate Palin and Jindal this much they are 1 and 2 in my book.
“Two nuts is enough for U.S. News and World Report”
Should be enough but it sounds like they have three! Such reporting or commentating is disgraceful and misleading, but then that’s what passes for news these days.
Is closing a primary a state by state thing or does it come from the RNC? And to be honest, I’m unenrolled in MA. and I like being able to bounce between parties in state elections. In MA it doesnt matter since the sheeple here always vote Dem anyway.
IF this party chooses that charlatan, they get what they deserve and I’m finished with it for good.
(There, I fixed it for you.)
Ask FRiend Diogenesis for details...
AFAIK it’s a RNC decision. Under all circumstances we need to close the primaries.
actually I think Baraq’s goal is to hand out enough welfare to pull a Chavez and have a lifetime job
I think DU’ers like to come over and yank chains on FR. Right now, I’m thinking that probably a good ticket would be Jindal/Palin. They’re both young, attractive, real and I’ve heard Jindal define the Conservative mindset very well many times in a kind, pleasant and firm tone of voice. Jindal is certainly as attractive as “Ears”, and people are going to have a long time to get a good dose of “Foot-in-Mouth” Joe. Obama is a disaster, and the MSM is only going to be able to hide it just so long. - I will say, though, that they will have to take the MSM in hand and not allow them and the likes of SNL to define them. McCain simply behaved in a very naive and gullible way with the MSM that he mistakenly thought just adored him. It was scary that he evidently couldn’t see that those were fangs hanging out of “Katie” Couric’s mouth.
