Alycia Nipp Did Not Have To Die
Clark County Conservative ^ | February 24, 2009 | Lew Waters

Posted on 02/24/2009 10:15:03 PM PST by DakotaRed

Clark County, especially the Hazel Dell neighborhood I reside in, was shocked to wake up Sunday morning, February 22 and hear of the brutal murder of 13 year-old Alycia Nipp, allegedly at the hands of convicted level III sex offender Darrin Eugene Sanford, who has since confessed to the brutal murder, the GPS tracking device on his ankle placing him the vicinity of the crime at the time of the crime.

I do not know either family personally, but live nearby and drive by the home where young Alycia lives and the field her murdered body was discovered in almost daily on my way to work. That makes this senseless murder of a young innocent person more personal to me.

What disturbs me the most about this is hearing that other “transient” sex offenders freely roam the neighborhood and sleep in some of the boarded up, abandoned and condemned homes in the neighborhood, presumably also wearing Court mandated GPS ankle tracking devices, as was Sanford.

Three years ago, a law was being considered across America and passed by many states. Jessica’s Law, named after Jessica Lunsford, another young girl murdered by a sex offender in Florida. At the time I said the proposed law was a step in the right direction, but did not go far enough.

Wearing an ankle bracelet, even a GPS tracking device, accomplishes little, other than placing a criminal at the scene, after the crime has been committed. In this case, a young girl lost her life because a known sex offender was allowed to roam her neighborhood, while someone somewhere else may be watching the whereabouts of the offender, delayed by satellite and having no idea what that person was doing at the moment.

A victim is dead before the authorities even know a crime has been committed and the best that can be done is to link a criminal to the crime by placing them in the vicinity at the time of the crime.

But, an innocent 13 year-old girl is still dead!

A trial must be and will be held, undoubtedly with some slip and fall attorney looking for a reason to free the accused. GPS records most likely will be challenged and a grieving family will be forced to face the possibility of their child’s murderer going free again.

If the evidence is strong that may not happen, but who knows in today’s world.

Already, news reporters are pointing out that Sanford was an “abused child.” So What? Many are abused. And I mean real abuse and do not head down the road of predator and sex crimes, abducting and killing our children.

I agree with Alycia’s aunt, Amber Hager who said. “I want to see him sentenced to death, honestly. I think, he took a life and for that he deserves to give a life, his life.”

It’s too late to save Alycia, sadly, but we need to learn from this. Predators like Sanford do not belong on the streets, roaming about neighborhoods where children live. Our children are worth much more than these cretins who threw their lives away by acting on impulses instead of seeking help from medical people or clergy or anybody who can tell them how wrong they are.

As far as I’m concerned, level III sex offenders, those who will most likely strike again, should never be released back into society. Yes, it is expensive to house them, too expensive in fact. They do not deserve the care we would provide them for life.

Devil’s Island comes to my mind, a desolate place they could be placed and kept away from societies children. Give them seeds, farm implements and a one-way boat ride. Ship them water occasionally if the Island has none, but otherwise, they receive no contact with others who choose not to contact them.

More controversial is swiftly carrying out the death penalty on those who kill. There is no reason that one who is convicted beyond any shadow of doubt should remain in prison awaiting death for 20 to 25 years, while slip and fall attorneys try every legal maneuver they can dream up to free them or “spare their life.”

Bleeding hearts will say that killing predators will not deter others. That is an arguable claim with both sides giving supportive evidence.

But, one fact is certain. Executing them prevents any possibility of some slick attorney gaining their freedom one day and another 13 year-old being beaten and stabbed to death in an empty field!

Our children deserve better than to be preyed upon by these predators that bleeding hearts feel such sorrow for.

My heart breaks for Alycia’s family. I feel anguish for Sanford’s family. There is no guilt in any of this crime except for the one who preyed on an innocent 13 year-old and left her to die after beating and stabbing her in that field.

That person should forfeit his own life.

Society must do better than to strap a GPS tracking device on predatory criminals. Our children deserve to be able to go outside without fear and be allowed to grow into adults without being randomly attacked.

Alycia Nipp Did Not Have To Die. Society failed to protect her and we must do better.

I'm glad the Aunt is speaking like this.

So sad. I think it was Washington State where they had the sex perv with a GPS out on the streets living under a bridge.

From what I hear, pervs are walking around all over America with only GPS devices on. That does nothing to protect teh children.

I’ve contacted my State Representatives on this telling them it isn’t good enough!

I agononize for this child and the other children brutalized by beasts such as this, abetted by those whom make excuses for them. They are equally guilty. Samford belongs dead — neither incarcerated, nor in some worthless treatment program. The fact that he is still breathing is not enlightenment in any stretch of the word. Only a decadent and depraved society would countenance his continued presence and only those who’ve forfeited their souls could ever defend him.

The aunt, Amber Hager, also said, before he was captured, that she had better not find him first. I believe her too. She would gladly kill him and have a lot of public support.

From Oregon’s Fox 12 News:

*****
Plus, he’s been monitored constantly with his GPS ankle bracelet, but experts know that none of this guarantees that they won’t re-offend.

“We can’t hold their hand seven days a week, 24 hours a day. And these things, as tragic as they are, do happen,” Meusborn-Marsh said. [Some corrections type person].

*******

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! “....these things do happen...”

A Level III sex offender like this guy, once convicted should be sent to life in prison without parole, end of story. And if we can ever get rid of the endless line of lawyers with regard to the death penalty - line them up against the wall and shoot them.

Like I say on every CHILD sex offender notice, (not statutory rapists, not ‘sex offenders’ so labelled because they moon someone or pee in public) -

just put them to death. It should be a lawfully, jury decided death penalty for child rapists. That’s it.

Visit Congress.org and on the left is a block where you can enter your zip code and be given email access to all of your Representatives, State and Local. Contact them and demand they take action to deal stronger with these vermin. If they are not willing to, we must vote them out next election! Our children deserve protection!

I noticed in the news stories pre arrest of this varment he had one of his hands completly bandaged up.

I wondered if that was from knife wounds from when he killed this sweet young gal.

These level 3 sexual predators need not be roaming around then flip side there are so many young men who end up on the lifelong list and perverted older men too that are prosecuted and convicted of sex pred crimes due to near 18 yr old girls that purposely engage/consent to sex but when the parents find out they cry foul out of shame or whatever.

But the law paints all men with the same punishment.

Raping child and getting tangled up with a 17yr old Lolita should not IMO be the same crime.

I know of a few girls soon to be adults who have had parents convict up to 5 men for sexual misconduct.

This guy should have never been let back into society and other men who are being invited to cohort with young nearly legal girls need to start wising up even when the girl claims she is an adult/18.

This is as bad as a prostitute being jailed/convicted but lettin the Johns go scott free.

Prayer for this lil gal whos family reported she was the apple of thier eye and the first gal in the family to give hope that her life would turn out different from her elders...now it is gone. Sad

What the hell? Is that spokesperson clueless or just heartless? We aren’t talking about a lost puppy, but a murdered child!

Unbelievable doesn’t even come close.

With an attitude like that it’s little wonder more children aren’t murdered!

Is it me DakRed or have you noticed the huge increase of violent crime (non domestic) in the news here lately.

The cross country skier who was brutally beat and left for dead.

The kid who was hanging out in the empty home and had the 4 youths beat/sexual torture him all night long in Greshem.

The dude that kidnapped raped the 15yr old that the Oregon citizens saw and chased down after seeing he was wanted on the news.

Then the older gal who claimed she was thrown off the bridge but in truth was covering up dismembering her husband.

We had a horrible crime here on the coast about nine years ago two young girls hitchhiking home at 2am (or the story goes of the mans apartment they were last known to be at that night) and both found dead/raped near Beverly Beach.

That case was just reopened due to evolving DNA tech. I pray the murderer will be found and brought to justice.

I dont ever remember this much murder/mayhem/robberies here in Oregon.

Esp. in the valley.

That's the right answer, but the liberals in the Supreme Court have decided it's a violation of some unwritten rule in the Constitution. Somehow federally-imposed socialism is not a violation, but there is something cruel and unusual in executing predators who rape and murder children. [They're right in the sense that's it's not commonly imposed ... but it should be.]

I wonder if the tracking device could have a small explosive device installed so it would take off a leg if the deviate roamed out of his assigned area. ;0)

We already lock up Level IVs.

Never heard of Level IVs? They're the ones who are "civilly committed" and don't get out.

The left has taken over the legal system, not just the lawyers, but the judges too. They have a whole philosophy, called structural oppression and a “praxis” to fight this oppression, called anti subordination. What it basically means is that white capitalists have been on top too long, oppressing minorities. The goal is to turn the tables on the white man, knock the props out from under him and create an uncertainty, so great that the white capitalist will willing submit to the elitists socialists, admit his guilt and throw himself on their mercy.

Destroying trust in the legal system is part of that plan. Letting sex offenders roam the streets keeps people off balance, but it also leads to blaming the system, the white culture of greed and oppression for creating the conditions that led to this crime, and also to mental illness. Oh, yes, they are in the process of laying the blame for all mental illnes on the white man.

I received the following replies today.

First, from Representative Ed Orcutt (R),

“Lew,

We have attempted to pass Jessica’s law in the past, but it got watered down to Jessica’s lite. I have asked staff to draft a true Jessica’s law and will seek to get it passed this year. Since we are past committee cutoffs, it is a bit more tricky, but I will still push for it.

Ed”

From Senator Don Benton’s office, who tried to pass Jessica’s Law in 2006,

“Mr. Waters,

The bill number was SB6389 and was proposed in 2006. It actually died in the Judiciary committee. Here is a link to the site that has the actual language http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?bill=6389&year=2005. Thank you for your support.”

I intend to be a thorn in every one’s side until something worth having on the books is passed. Everyone needs to complain until Olympia does something more than just pass legislation that places a perve in the vicinty AFTER a child is murdered!

Hi, this is Alycia's god mother. We agree with you. Enough is not being done. We (her mother, aunt, 2 friends and I) have created MASC = Mothers Against Sex Crimes. Please look us up on myspace or facebook to see what we are doing or if you would like to help!

Believe it or not, it is going to be an uphill battle. On my blog, Clark County Conservative, I had several commenters from the group Citizens for Legislative Change, that says they are against these violent predators, but then post smoke screens for what they consider less violent offenders wrongfully listed as sex offenders. One even invited me to join the Washington State Chapter.

I once read a book by a convicted Rapist/Murderer and have ordered a copy of what I think might be it, it being long out of print.

The book began as “therapy” since the Death Penalty was not in effect at the time of his crimes. He asks no forgiveness or understanding, nor would he be due any. His Therapist decided to make it a book with 100% of all profits going to the murdered girls family.

But, the gist of what he wrote is that he is incurable and should never be let out again.

If the one I ordered is the same one it should give us some ammunition to use against these bleeding hearts that allow these scum to wander our neighborhood.

Hopefully, we can combine our efforts and with Senator Benton’s and Representative Orcutt’s help, push these others into some legislation that favors our children, not the predators.

Both my wife and I extend our deepest sympathies to you all, especially Alycia’s mother and family.
