The thread where I posted instructions is here:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2191344/posts

I'll repost it here so you don't have to surf over there:

ALWAYS USE A PROXY!!!

Use firefox, and install proxy software or TOR.

There are a number of good Firefox Proxy plugins, I currently use Multiproxy switch and can post to Topix from anywhere I choose... even China.

:)

If you want to know more, let me know, I’ll write up some instructions...

I’ve had fun with it... for example, some loony left wing type started a thread over there about somebody eating meat and how he loved animals.

So I set my proxy to China and pretended to misunderstand his/her post and went on about how wrong it was to eat cow when dog was so delicious... the post showed up as from China, so they were livid! Then after they attacked Lao Shing from Shanghai, I posted as someone from the UK saying how culturally insensitive they were being...

Proxies can be fun!

If you want to use a proxy, first... GET FIREFOX!

Then, try these plugins:
Multi Proxy Switch (This is the one I like best)
Switch Proxy
TOR Proxy
Proxy Switch
TOR Button
Fox TOR
Proxy Toolbar
Quick Proxy

There are more.
If you are going to post something controversial, or something that you do not want traced - ever, then use an internet cafe or WiFi network somewhere that it is anonymous, like at a Starbucks. Then Screw 'em. Post whatever the hell you damn well please.

You can also wardrive, but this might be risky from a legal standpoint.

If you want to 'wardrive', it's easy enough to build a "Yagi-Uda" antenna and can do so with a broomstick and bunch of 'spike' nails. You can even build a WiFi booster out of a Pringles can or even a Wok (Asian cookware booster!). Then you can grab the WiFi connection from the Starbucks halfway across town without anybody knowing who or where the hell you are.

If you nee more details, FReepmail me. I'm a terrible recovered hacker and privacy nut, and know all (or at least, most of) the tricks.

I had a couple of requests to reveal more information about how to surf anonymously. I answered a couple of nice FReepers via FReepmail, but will post some of my hackercracker advice here for all:

As I said in my post, install Firefox for your browser, and then the MultiProxy Plugin that I listed first. You will need to play with it a bit to learn to configure it, but it is very simple to use.

Then you go to a place like Proxy-list.org: www.proxy-list.org

They will give you a list of fresh proxies usually sorted by country. Select a few and enter them into the plugin. You need to enter only two things:

  1. Proxy address
  2. Port

This sounds complicated, but it's not. It's nothing more than the "address" of the proxy, and the port, or "doorway" it can come in and out of.

What you need to find is a list of proxies, like this:
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Set it up in the Proxy plugin in firefox, and that’s it.
The numbers you see before the colon, are the proxy addresses, the "port" is the number after the colon. Simple.
Then the latency tells you how slow it is, as a proxy will slow down your interactivity, as your post must go to Brazil or wherever first, then to Topix.

As you can see by this list I just grabbed from the proxy site I gave you above, there are proxies from Brazil, Canada, Greece, Slovakia, South Africa, China...

If you really want to be sure that it is completely untraceable forever, use a proxy AND Wardrive or use an Internet cafe. Then it is impossible to trace to you ever unless you were somehow caught on camera.

I usually add the city to the Proxy after I find out where it is after my first post on Topix.

For example,
I find a proxy for Mexico... so I post on Topix, and then I see that the city is Juarez, Mexico. So then I go back into the settings and set it so I know which city I am posting from, like this:

Mexico, Juarez.

The problem is that these proxies come and go. Some will work for months, others go dead after a couple of days, but you can always go and find more.

Just go into google and enter: proxy list

You will find a million fresh new ones every time. You can choose which country to post from. It’s great fun to play with the lefties... posting from Africa and bashing them as a “real African” who they insulted... or from China...

Hope that helps. If you are going to post anything even slightly illegal, use a proxy OUTSIDE the USA, AND do it from an Internet cafe. Then you can do whatever the hell you damned well please - within reason of course.

Have fun!
:)

If you cannot reach your neighborhood Starbucks from your window, you can always build a WaveGuide antenna from an old can Like THIS.

Or a Yagi-Uda antenna from a broomstick, like THIS.

Last, but certainly not least, you can build an "Asian Cookware" antenna that will pull in WiFi for "Wardriving" like THIS.

Don't forget to use a proxy too. You will be virtually untraceable unless you start making death threats or something really dumb. Even then, they could only catch you if you stayed on the same network all the time and did it consistently. If you did it just once from a location, using say, a Chinese proxy and wardriving from a distance with a Yagi-Uda broomstick contraption and foil covered umbrella you could never be traced ever.

One more thing about Topix!

COOKIES!!!
Forgot to mention that Topix ueses cookies if they ban you or for who knows what other reason.

So get a plugin for firefox like “Cookie Culler” or the “Web Developer” plugin with Cookie deleting abilities and then delete all the cookies to Topix after you post there. One visit there will usually give you about 9 cookies if not more. Just delete all the path cookies and domain cookies and you are a new user from a new location!

You can remove them all with the WebDeveloper Addon for Firefox.

Whew!

That’s my condensed version of “How to Hack Topix”.

It’s fun posting from different countries.

Just remember to DELETE THE COOKIES. Topix will use cookies to ban you. You might not even know you are banned, as you will see your posts when you go there and your cookie is recognized, but nobody else will see it.

Easy way to find out?
Change your IP address with the proxy as I’ve showed you AND delete the cookies. Then you’ll know right away.

Hope all that helped.
I got some FReepmail from some folks when I first posted it and they said that it worked great for them and I assume they are now have a blast with it.

FRegards,
:)

I guess a 54 year old female pharmacist, who goes to church regularly, donates to animal charities, belongs to the garden club, likes to travel, read biographies, but who is also concerned about her beloved country is simply too much of a wacko to post on there.

You sound pretty crazy to me! ;^)

Heh! I’ve been egging on the Obama lovers on 9news.com, getting them angry until they start threatening violence, then watching them get booted off the site.

Some people carve things out of wood. This is my hobby...

I should give this 'hacking' information its own post, but then again, a lot of lefties lurk here, and it's better if this post is somewhat buried.

I've gotten a couple of FReepmails, so know that a couple of you got it working.

Just remember about the cookies!
Each visit to Topix gives you about 9 cookies.
That's also how they ban you.
