LOL! ...irrelevant!
He’s also the Rep. which sponsored the Bill to propose an “income tax holiday”..One of the best ideas I’ve heard in years.

Yep, and ONLY the Congress can initiate a spending bill.
He can veto, and the House could simply NOT send another bill. Not a single one.
seems people over looked that gem huh?
Valid points, but I am looking at this from another direction.
Democrats are creatures of big government, of big spending... but above all, they are creatures of self-interest. If the choice is sticking with (what they call) principle or looking out for No. 1, they choose self-interest.
Suppose the GOP were to win a good majority in 2010, based on the public anger to Obama's policies. If the GOP were to stick to principle and pound on cancelling Porkulus, and the public sentiment against it continued to rise to the danger level -- I think that some of the Blue Dogs, fearful of their chances for reelection and facing angry electorates in their home states, would come out and reverse course on Porkulus. I think they would throw Obama under the bus if they thought it would help preserve their own careers.
That is where a veto-proof majority could possibly come from.
you know what.
I WILL HAVE TO JOIN YOU AS A CHARTER MEMBER OF THE IDIOT CLUB.
If we sweep all 34 senate seats in 2010, we get to 57 not 67.
so repeat after me.
I’m an idiot, you’re an idiot, and you and I can be a pepper too.
My take on the Blue Dogs is that they mostly bow to the party in order to get re-election funds and avoid a challenger in the primaries.
There are a majority of Dem voters who would rather pour acid in their eyes than ever vote GOP. They could all vote 3rd party and we could still lose, given that there is no support for RINOs and the GOP is still institutionally moderate.
Things could change. IMO, it is going to take a huge public outcry. A lot could depend on the 2009 local elections. However, I am not holding my breath. People are going to wait until they get what they were promised and they may wait until pigs fly, but if they change horses in midstream, then the GOP will be knocked for preventing them for receiving their pie. Look at the reaction to Republican Governors refusing, or thinking of refusing, the stimulus money. Gohmert is going to be savaged for denying the *deserving* their loot.
I will be happy if we can just get an increase in GOP in both Houses, for 2010. Then, another increase in local/state elections in 2011. That may help in 2012, but we need another leg downward in the economy for the pain to be pinned to the donks forever.
If I see the word ‘idiot’ from you again, you’ll get a vacation.
