My view on this is largely shaped by Iraq. It takes a certain balance of 'willing to kill / willing to be killed' to control people, and sufficient numbers. If you fail in any section, you have a weakness that will be your undoing. I'll grant that Obama fanatics are numerous enough. I just don't see them as dangerous on a physical level.
Sure, they fantasize about him in the shower, but how does that turn them into a disciplined threat that will brave enemy rifles? On that regard, your average group of Iraqis is far more dangerous than your average group of liberal. And the average group of conservatives is far more dangerous physically than either. Exponentially so, in numbers.
So when push comes to shove, what keeps the steel in the back of a liberal warrior? I know what keeps it in the back of a conservative, and what keeps it in the back of an Iraqi. I just can't visualize the template of a liberal warrior class.
Good plan. And next on my agenda: ammo. And target practice.
At sixty years of age with a young family, the hardest thing that I do each day is reflect on what will become of my wife and kids when the decision has to made to rise to the defense of this Nation. I now that I am not alone in making the mental preparations, but it still a hard piece of cheese to swallow.

Yes, and a small number of people WILLING to fight a nasty guerrilla war can do much more damage. I’m talking REAL nasty - no moral high ground, no safe havens, no quarter asked and none given.
We MUST be willing or all the men who fought and died for our freedoms will have died in vain. Take a look at the names on the Vietnam Wall, tell a WW2 vet to his face that it was all in vain. Not me, I will resist.
1. Who will promptly start shooting each other. "Gangbangers" tend not to work well with anyone from outside their gang, especially other gangs. Espeically other gangs of other ethnic backgrounds.
2. Who will scare my upper middle class, liberal Democrat neighbors, some of the most racist people I've ever met, into abandoning the Democratic party forever. Ditto with the blue collar union types.
3. Who have zero combat training, skill, or discipline. Badge or no badge, they'd be cut to ribbons trapsing into the wrong neighborhood and threatening people. OR they could just keep the weapons and continue being criminals. I think they'll figure that out pretty quick. You could give them Strykers and attack helicopters, but can you give them the skill and discipline to maintain them?

Great point. I can't see your average Starbucks sippin' Obama worshipping eco-hippie doing house to house takedowns either, but I can see groups of gang bangers, drug lord thugs and hardcore leftists doing it for hire or for some sort of power sharing arrangement. Of course those applications are ultimately untenable too, considering who they would be up against.
Yeah, I’m picturing orcs from the LOTR. If they’ve got good guys to bash, the orcs are happy. If they find themselves without good guys to victimize, the orcs just start attacking each other. An army of gangbangers is not likely to be effective. I hear that successful armies depend on a thing called “discipline”.

My syndicated column today looks at the massive mortgage entitlement campaign launched by President Obama today — and the concurrent, anti-foreclosure bullying campaign launched by ACORN. I’ve been warning about this for weeks (see here, here, here, and here) — and in particular, I’ve been blasting the Republicans for playing right into the left-wing agenda. The Beltway GOP is just as guilty as the Democrats for perpetuating the idea that your mortgage is my problem and that it government’s job to stem falling housing values.
This is the ethos that helped create Peggy the Moocher, Henrietta Hughes, and the Colorado third-grader who explained his support for Obama this way (hat tip - Jessica Peck Corry):
“I always listen to the speech of Obama in the commercial that he will help pay the rent of (our) house.”

They live THIER day-to-day lives detached from what goes on in Washington, and cannot comprehend that such a thing would even be possible in AMERICA.
What they know is that the electric and water bills keep going up, beans that cost .33 cents a can 2 years ago now cost a .75, and Hamburger can run as much as $2 a Lb. now.
Meanwhile, thier job always seems to be on a tether, and those “EVIL REPUBLICANS” they see in the movies all the time are really bad people.
They cannot see what’s coming because THEY DO NOT WANT TO, and they think that even if it does, it won’t effect THEM.
The POWER OF PROPOGANDA is very real thing, and the sheeple have been force-fed ‘liberal’ ideas for a long time now.
I’ve read many posts on the net. “us” has never defined how they will commnicate: big problem, Big brother will be jamming most “civi” channels.
Logistics; another area of concern
Networks need to be established that will coordinate and support ops.,etc.
Time to get started on all of this and more.
