Dem’s Use “Stimulus” as Cover for More Gun Control

The liberals are at it again.

In a new bill introduced the first day of the present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) targets all gun owners in the U.S.A. While the media the world and everyone else is focused on the “phony plan” to spend tax dollars legislation is sneeking through the House and Senate for more gun control. This nefarious bill seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction.

Passage of this misbegotten bill would justify armed revolt. This is a direct attack on the Constitution. The founding fathers were quite clear about rejecting tyranny by any honorable means. This bill would be anathema to them all.

Why do Democrats always need to figure out who has guns?

A quote that is worth remembering from the writter of our Constitution: “Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace.” — James Madison

And yes, I do see the Fascist Democrats as oppressors, using the tyranny of the majority to make it happen.

GB had someone on his show to discuss HR 45 and his conclusion was that this bill will never pass but in todays atmosphere that kind of attitude makes me nervous.

I'll bite (I'm sure you already know). It's the next step towards confiscation of our firearms.

Didn’t the Supreme Court just rule that gun control laws are unconstitutional? Why isn’t that the final word?

It's never the final word as far as leftist zombies are concerned.

It's only the final word when they're enjoying their eternal vacation in hell.

It makes them nervous if they don't know. I wonder why?

“Why do Democrats always need to figure out who has guns?”

The short answer is so that they can take them away.

The longer answer looks into the heart of liberalism.

A punk shoots another punk in a city. One dead, one maybe in the court system. This incurs a “societal cost” and has some “injustice” to it. The gun caused this problem, leaving a trail of tainted lives as it moves through “the streets”.

So to redeem the “true societal cost” of the firearm, all involved must pay either money or some other penance.

The guy who sold the punk the stolen gun must be scolded, the poor thief who stole it must be made ashamed, the homeowner it was stolen from must pay, the shop where the homeowner bought it must pay, the gun distributor pays, and finally the factory where it was made pays.

Societal cost is balanced and justice is spread. Some of the terrible losses suffered when the punk shot his buddy are reclaimed. Blame is placed where it belongs. We all sigh and reflect on the lessons learned.

You can only do this if you can track a gun from when it was ore to when it finally was crushed by sorrowful government officials in a special ceremony (I think they do this in Maine, ritual destruction of “crime guns”).

And then there is ammo, and knives, and deadly aluminum baseball bats.

It's rooted in tyranny ... “The tyranny of the majority” is as oppressive as any other form of tyranny. You can't get there if the people can shoot back. Our founders knew that, and wrote the second amendment.

Hugo Chavez is the perfect example of using the tyranny of the majority to force communism on Venezuela. The enabling force, promise ignorant people free stuff, and run the country from there. Exactly what is Obama's plan.

HR45 is getting more play than HR1022 and it’s sequel ever did, yet HR45 has zero cosponsors and has far less chance of getting out of committee than the others did.

It’s panic for panic’s sake imo.

To see the futility of licensing and registration schemes such as HR45, I highly recommend you read the following link from the NRA website

http://www.nraila.org//Issues/Articles/Read.aspx?ID=22

Basically it points out that these registration laws cannot be used against criminals, only against law-abiding citizens. If so, what is the purpose of registration? Quite simply, registration is the first step needed before confiscation.

“It’s panic for panic’s sake imo.”

HR45 is one of the most draconian, anti-gun bills to ever exist. The possibility is that Obama can say “that’s too stringent, let me show you MY idea of a gun law” which would have 70% of the ideas in the HR45 bill.

He comes off by the MSM looking like a guy trying to reach common ground, when in fact he is stomping on the Constituion.

Panic? Nothing of the sort, if it means that our rights might possibly be abridged.
