The Supreme Court has ruled on this kind of thing a gazillion times, but liberal profs never stop trying to get away with it. They know it’s only a matter of time before liberals own the judicial branch, so they’ll keep trying. I’m sure judicial nominations are no longer a problem in Congress, and judges will be confirmed immediately. It’s unfortunate that Bush wasn’t able to get many of his nominees even voted on.

They don’t care, the universities have to fork up the money, not their own personal money.

A left-wing fascist professor once refused to give me a grade on a paper because I had written about the millions of deaths caused by communism. He claimed that Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and other communist murderers were “not real communists.” Even though virtually all of my college professors were leftists, he was the only one who tried to punish me for my views.

He wanted me to change my paper so that it didn’t blame any deaths on communism. I argued with him and finally he gave me a C-minus on the paper as I’d originally written it.

I ended up getting a B in the class, perhaps because I reminded him that it might look odd if someone with a 3.7 GPA got too low a grade.

I suppose the idiot also believed that Che wasn’t a ‘real’ communist.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Teachers like this are the best advertisement for homeschooling going.

What concerns me now is: What do we do about college? Many homeschool students (in our state) start taking college courses early (between ages 13-15). I’m not sure I want my sons in college so early if this type of attitude is what they’ll encounter from professors. Maybe they won’t encounter it much in certain courses, like mathematics. But, they’ll probably encounter it in most of the other courses.

My husband and I just had this discussion this evening. He asked why I couldn’t just homeschool through college. LOL!

Many of our homeschooling friends have sent their kids to Catholic or other Christian colleges.

I didn’t encounter much like this at the public college I went to. Matter of fact, a great many of the profs were either Christians or very strong Catholics, kind of reflecting the area in which we live.

It can be done, you just have to be careful about where you go and who you take classes from. The kids need to ask around and find out which are the good profs.

My homeschooled daughter is a freshman at our local community college. She wantsto be a broadcast sound designer so she’s taking some classes in the arts. Last week, she had an assignment to attend a play at a college in a bad part of town at night. I drove her there and decided to buy a ticket too. The play was a wonderful presentation of how good it is to be gay.

I was very proud of the upbringing we gave her that she could immediately see through the agenda, be in the world but not of it.

She wrote a pretty good critique of the play, trashing it on technical aspects and the fact that it held no symbolism or meaning as a well written storyline should.

As a joke, I wrote a critique too. I retitled the play “3 Gays and a Slut” and it went downhill from there. I don’t understand symbolism, so I based my critique on trashing the liberal sex uber alles agenda portrayed.

That said, I don’t believe that a young kid has the wherewithal to resist the devil in lower level government schools, but, provided the parents do a good job, they can be a bright point of light in the university setting.

Right now, I'm planning for them to each take CLEP tests and college cyber-courses through their teen years. Anything to keep them from setting foot in those places until they're old enough and strong enough to stand up against the college crowd. LOL.

I wish there were more of them. And, sadly, the Catholic colleges in our area have become quite left-leaning, according to what I've been reading, anyway. But, the Catholic/Christian colleges probably should be the first to consider. There seem to be so few conservative-leaning colleges.

When I went to community college back in the ‘80’s, many of my professors were Republicans, and proudly so. My political science professor even had someone from the Republican party come into class one day and talk to us about the making of political ads. :-0 Times sure have changed. But, you’re right, where we live probably has something to do with it, too.

It sounds like your daughter is setting a good example. (Kudos to you for managing to sit through the play. I think I would've written the same critique that you did... lol.)

I asked if we could leave at intermission but she told me that it was so insipid, one kid in class thought it was over and left. he had to go back, but another thicket and endure it again.

She is a very good example of doing stuff the right way. I defer our success to the adage that even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
