Gun owners are alarmed over what they're witnessing in Washington, DC and state legislatures across the country. Realizing they could not succeed in disarming American citizens, Liberal organizations and their political representatives have decided to allow armed citizens to possess all the guns they wish. The hitch is, according to political strategist Mike Baker, the so-called gun-grabbers have decided to track ammunition for those guns by encoding the cartridges and maintaining a database.

There's little pretext for gun control without violent criminals. That's why liberals love them so much.
Millions upon millions of us out here have reloading benches with years of supply stocked away, and they think that we are going to give a crap about their rules? Every day it gets closer to us against them.

Doesnt matter if you buy tons now, they have a built in date that after that date, any ammo you have now will be illegal. Keeps you from hording lots for later.
Well they better build lots of jails - I don’t see anyone handing over their ammo let alone their guns!
So the ammo I have now will be illegal! And that is important....how? I might get in trouble? Should a law of this type pass, the entire nation would be in far more trouble than I could ever be.
“Doesnt matter if you buy tons now, they have a built in date that after that date, any ammo you have now will be illegal. Keeps you from hording lots for later.”
It won’t stop anyone. People will just buy small amounts of the “politically correct” ammunition for occasional target practice and hunting with their buddies and remain quiet about their real stock except with a few trusted family/friends.
Guns don't kill people... bullets do.
We are going to be told, in the usual 'nuanced' way, that they aren't infringing on anyone's right to keep and bear arms. They're just making sure those arms aren't loaded.
“Keeps you from hording lots for later.”
Believe that if you want to.
Well then, I guess there is no reason to stock up is there? Break a law in order to protect ourselves from tyranny? Perish the thought. /s
I wish every legislator who votes against guns would tell their secret service agents to disarm. Only then would we see who truly is against guns.

One of the few statements of this life which is true 100% of the time: Slaves do not own guns; free men do.

Cars are a deadly weapon and regularly kill many people.....one of the leading causes of death is MVA’’s. I think everyone should have to show a special gas ID before they are allowed to buy gas. See how silly that looks? It is no different with guns.

I could just imagine the outrage if the government said that a person could only write 1 paragraph a month. After all, words can incite riots (pen is mightier than the sword) so they need to be limited. And taxes on pens of course, as there is a need to cut down on hateful writings which might lead to riots. Oh, and of course 1 pen per month. Would love to hear the loony left if these ideas were implemented.

Experts agree that everyone needs a 401k to prepare for retiremment. And experts also agree that everyone should have a fire extinguisher.....and smoke detectors, and 6 months savings in case of emergency. Why do experts have you prepare for every possible contingency except for the most precious of them all- your life?
Makes. Absolutely. No. Sense.

What part of “Shall not be infringed” is ambiguous?

Imagine for just a second the United Nations passed a worldwide resolution proclaiming that people worldwide could not punch back if they were punched in the nose. An action should be met with a proportional consequence, but the United Nations wants to stop this and have everyone put their hands up. That would be crazy, not to mention immoral and unethical. People the world over would say they are not complying with such a resolution, and justifiably so as self-defense is a basic human right. But that is precisely what is happening when guns are not allowed in the hands of law-abiding citizens!

If guns cause crime, then all of mine are defective.

Re: “militia”
People in the 1700’s and 1800’s USA did not have:
-One gun a month limits on purchases
-NICS background checks-CCW cards
-Require ID for ammo purchases
The notion that the 2nd A is limited to “militias” is a specious one. There were no limitations on ownership of firearms until the late 19th Century. That is a little fact that anti-gunners conveniently forget.
They can tell us all they want. How many of us listen will be far, far fewer than they hope or fear. They want my ammo or guns, they can come and TRY to get them.
Agree most heartily.
But, what happened in the late 19th Century to change the face of America forever? Think crime statistics, and how different American politics and violent crime rates would look without certain demographic realities.
Uncomfortable, complicated? Sure. But true.
Gun Control Act of 1968.
Also Red, freakin’ tremendous tagline. I’m using it, because MD is just that much bluer than PA.
Good point. In fact this bill is example number one of how stupid politicians can be. It should be renamed "The Gunman's Not Guilty Act of 2009". If coded ammunition becomes the law, then every defense attorney in the country will immediately raise a reasonable doubt defense based on the ammunition code not being related to the alleged gunman. I can just see the cases now - a guy on trial in Philadelphia for shooting a cop will contend that since the ammo was sold to a guy in California, how could he be guilty? And he'd have a pretty good point. It would be like having the license number of a car supposedly used in a crime, but then having to explain to the jury that somehow the plate ended up on another car in another state, since actually the license plate belonged to somebody who had nothing to do with the crime. Instant reasonable doubt.
Of course the reality will be that ammo that was stolen, forged, or just plain mixed up and swapped around will be an item of commerce among criminals. Tracing back the ammo will be hopeless, like trying to trace back a gram of cocaine seized on a street in New York city. Who knows how it got there, and what the original source was.
Of course the most valuable coded ammunition of all will be that issued to law enforcement agencies. That's the ultimate "get out of jail pass" for a smart gunman. So if this idiotic bill passes, the contents of a patrolman's magazines will be more valuable than its weight in crack cocaine. What better alibi for a hit on another drug dealer than to have the ammunition coded back to the police department?
I'd hate to be a patrolman, riding solo in a patrol car in a bad neighborhood if my ammunition was invaluable to the worst kind of criminals. Particularly when the guy who is after my ammo already has some ammo with codes from my own police department.
This bill is utterly idiotic, and would do more to endanger our law enforcement officers than it would do to solve crimes.
You do understand that Gun Control is not about reducing crime, right?
I actually never fully appreciated the 2nd Amendment until this past year. Now, I use it as a litmus test for those willing (or not) to uphold the Constitution.
Everything is second to this.

Absolutely brilliant point.
One hopes major city DA’s are as insightful as you.

Speaking from the heartland, and not just for myself, I’d say it would suck to be a gubmint agent coming to anyones farm or ranch with the thought that he was going to get anything other than the ammo. Because I have a distinct feeling that they will get the ammo. At least a small portion of it. I have already had this conversation, and I was told, well you are stupid, because they will bring in the SWAT teams. I dont know if they really want to get into another Ruby Ridge or Waco deal or not, because, I would speculate that it is only going to take one shot from their side to bring hoards of patriots down upon their flanks. In this day and age, if you enter into my place with governmental intentions, the word will be out in the community before you get out of your vehicle. The Gubmint is stupid if they think that they are going in on individuals.
I dont think that people in this area at least have the least qualms about going to Revolution II in a heartbeat. It will be another shot heard across America. It will then suck to be any public employee who thinks that they are loyal enough to want to “enforce the law”. I told a bunch of cadets recently that if the flag drops that they better make hasty decisions as to where their loyalty lies, because if they continue to covet the badge, then they become the enemy. I understand they need a job for the time being, but that decision awaits them in the near future.
And so it begins......
