Sen. John McCain said flatly today on CNN's State of the Union with John King, that President Obama's Stimulus Bill was "a bad beginning" for him, and that the bill is "not bipartisan."
It is clear that Obama deliberately made the high-profile overture of visiting with Republicans in Congress prior to the bill being written. He did so as a purely political stunt. The Democrats then wrote the bill as they wanted, will all the giveaways to their constituent interest groups. Republicans were not a part of serious negotiations on the legislation.
Obama's team are using his visits with Republicans as proof the bill is "bipartisan," when they know it is not. Obama's definition of "bipartisan" is, "I'll visit with you for the cameras and then I'll do as I please." Any thinking person can see the difference between Obama's grandstanding and true bipartisan work. . . . . (Watch Video)

Go away John. Just go away.
The reason given was that the Republicans weren't going to vote for it anyway!
If that is true, then the Dems have demonstrated an abysmal, probably criminal understanding of the way our system of government works.
They are passing laws that affect all of us of whatever party we belong. Not allowing our reperesentatives to read bills before a vote (or the citizens, for that matter) is an abuse of power, and monumental arrogance beyond belief!
Better late than never. He IS still a senator, satisfying his role.
Big talker McCain is just a bit late....
One can look back at nearly every anti-American turn our government has made over the past 15 years, and find Johnny’s little fingerprints.
Good post.
