Spending In the Stimulus Bill

I spent some time into the wee hours of the morning going through parts of the stimulus bill, looking for where taxpayer dollars are going.

This is not meant to be a full list of spending projects in the final economic stimulus bill, but it represents a good cross section of what I found soon after the text of the legislation was publicly released at 11pm on Thursday night.

Wouldn't you have expected an emergency stimulus bill to contain a heavy dose of different medicine? Not so this debacle. It's just page and page, example after example of the SOS. This is just more of the same pork-laden buying of votes that got us into needing an emergency stimulus bill in the first place.

It's like a patient is dying due to the prolonged administration of small amounts of a poison that accumulates in the body, and you are told that the cure is a massive amount of the same poison given as quickly as possible. Hmmm....

I see nothing to halt home foreclosures. Noting about interest rate (homes or credit cards). Nothing resembling long-term employment opportunity (all short-term gov’t projects).

I see, 1st step to universal health, earmarks and pork, a supplemental spending bill all helping to grow a bigger government.
