Sen. Judd Gregg withdraws nomination for commerce secretary

Republican Sen. Judd Gregg has withdrawn his nomination for U.S. commerce secretary. The stated reason is his disagreement with the Obama Administration over the stimulus bill. The real reason is probably the humiliation he has suffered over reports Obama is taking the 2010 census away from him. I am sure he disagrees with the stimulus and the partisan way it was rammed through the Senate. However, I doubt that is reason enough to withdraw. The stimulus bill does provide a good cover for his withdrawal over the census issue.

I like the idea that he got to be the fly in the corner...even for a little while.

“The real reason is probably the humiliation he has suffered over reports Obama is taking the 2010 census away from him”

seems to me dear leader is the one being humiliated at almost every turn with his cabinet picks- this is just another example....

I shall send another email & this time I’ll say: “Thank you for your courage and patrioism. Next time you run I will send my small contribution. Our country cannot survive without principled representatives.”

He probably felt like Glenn Beck did when Beck worked for CNN with his program.

Beck said it was like walking through hostile grounds every day going down the hall.

Odooma don’t want anything bi-partisan in his administration. he talks the talk, but don’t walk the walk.
One more Republican Senator is better for America anyhow.

Good for Gregg. At last a republican with integrity.I had seen this census power grab as a test of whether he would stand up or sell out. Glad to see him stand up to the turd world socialist a-holes elected by the parasite class last November.

The current President is pond scum. All he knows is Chicago pond-scum.

Sen Gregg probably looked at the other fish in the current President’s aquarium and decided he didn’t want to swim in the polluted water.

So to save face they are floating the story that Gregg asked (begged) for the job.

Well, the Democrats’ version of “bipartisan” means “Republicans lube up and grab their ankles”.

OK, that’s a good thing. But why was he so slobberingly polite? I would’ve said, “Look, I never should’ve taken this job in the first place. Obama’s a fraud and dumb ass.
He knows nothing about economics and despises the Constitution, capitalism, and American values. I urge all Americans to oppose him at every turn.” —Judd Gregg

I agree. Gregg stated that what was being asked of him was simply ‘a bridge to far’.

I don’t know why he was so polite. He was nervous as a cat today at the newsconference.... though he has struck me as two seconds away from a nervous breakdown since he was out front fighting for TARP 1.

He is a principled man and he was trying to be as gracious as possible. I am sure the truth is on his side so if I were the White Press secretary, I would tread very carefully.

Don’t knock Senator Gregg. It did my heart good to see a man of principle taking a stand. When was the last time we’ve seen that? (McCain should have done that when he flew back to Washington for the TARP fiasco. If he had done that, the cosmos would not have been rent and the anti-christ would not have slipped in to this dimension).

Not sure how to feel about this. Unless he intended to punk Zero from the get-go, he was willing to take the job if the circumstances were right.

That makes him an enabler.
