I know he probably can't stop the two hens and the old coot from giving cover to the Porkulus.
Right now he shouldn't announce anything, but simply quietly get busy finding primary challengers for each of them, line up party members to commit to funding them, and in primary season have the party endorse the challengers.
If a RINO knows that being a RINO means that he's out, he may stop being so much of an active RINO.
He should have the power to pull funds for next election, actively find people to run against them and like said on other posts here publicly scorn them so they stand out like a sore thumb.
Nicely done... pity it won’t ever happen, but nicely done.
Heres McConnells strong words.
At the same time, McConnell avoided any direct criticism of Specter who faces reelection in 2010 Collins or Snowe, simply saying that the three Republicans did not improve the bill enough to attract more GOP support.
Here are
Absolutely Nothing."
Same thing all the former RNC Chairmen have always done - back them to the hilt and bury them in $ to get re-elected.
The way to do it is to make Steele set out principles which every one is supposed to meet.
Meanwhile, he can get Mitch to demote the lot of them with caucus votes.
Well, I don't expect Steele to be able to stop the Three from helping the Democrats.
But he can go a long way to telling the nation what he, and other Republicans, think about it!
They don't need the votes of the Three. They're trying to foster on illusion of bipartisanship. That's what I want Steele to take on--that spin and illusion. Shatter it! Complain, gripe, scream against these three. Be out there saying that these were BOUGHT Republicans.
The reality can't be changed. But the perception can.
Punish them, Mr. Steele.
He should have the power to pull funds for next election, actively find people to run against them and like said on other posts here publicly scorn them so they stand out like a sore thumb.
***Would be great to see him do it. But I doubt that will happen. Go ahead Steele. Prove me wrong!***
There is only one way to stop them now, but few have the nuts required for the task.

Mam, not being to be disrespectful to you, but they are speaking for the GOP--at least, they're speaking for a good number of GOP governors and Senators who need and want this "bailout" to cover their misdeeds.
These three are just the "heroes" who are willing to take the heat, while the others get to say they opposed the bill in order to appease us.
If I'm in error, I'm sure we'll soon hear many Republicans coming out and upbraiding these three for betraying the GOP party platform---but I'm not holding my breath. -:)
Let's not be fooled again.
Absolutely Nothing.
Nah. He'll express regrets that they chose to go their own way, then later he'll apologize to them. He's a 'pubby, after all.
Realistically, throwing them out of the party gives the Republicans the same problem the Democrats have with Lieberman... times three.
No, apparently, Corker is against it; it’s some kind of procedural thing for one member opposing to vote for cloture. Martinez or Voinovich should have done the procedural IMHO; they’re not running in 2010.
I know what you are suggesting, but the country is no where near that point.
Snow, Collins, and Specter have been Blagoed...votes for $$$$.
I’m betting nothing will be done.
I will happily eat my words.
Pay to play--they're paying now to play later. What are they being offered? At least, ask that question loudly and in public.
