Oh geez, these PETA nuts have no clue about dog breeds. Border Collie's are herding dogs. They are pre-wired to do it and aren't happy unless they're doing some form of herding, whether its other animals, kids, or simply chasing balls. My Belgian is exactly the same. He is bred for herding sheep (his father was a champion at herding, agility, tracking and obedience). He herds other dogs at the dog park, as it evident by the high pitched bark he throws from his throat when chasing them. He's tried to herd kids, goats and cows too. It is simply who he is.

I find it ironic that these PETA jackasses are likely the same liberals who say 'gays are born that way' and we should respect that. If 'born that way' is good enough for gays, then its good enough for my dog, damn it.

If and when I get another Belgian, it will be through a rescue. Don't think I'll ever get another puppy- forgot how much work they are!

We just got an Aussie puppy for my daughter last May(from a very reputable breeder - her first litter in several years). I love our Aussies. My old dog will not be with us much longer, I am afraid, and I know I do want another dog when he is gone. I just don't think I can go through the puppy thing again. What a lot of work! It's a good thing we used to work with the local Aussie rescue group. We should be able to find a suitable adult. ;-)
