Judas Gregg and Team Obama: A perfect fit By Michelle Malkin February 2, 2009 08:00 PM Well, it looks increasingly likely that GOP Sen. Judd Gregg will be named the new Commerce Secretary nominee following the Bill Richardson fiasco. (Update: Gregg accepts.) Gregg championed the Crap Sandwich and regurgitated every Chicken Little talking point and fiscal myth to sell it:
Gregg then crusaded to release the second half of the Crap Sandwich despite the Treasury Departments obstinate lack of disclosure and miserable bungling of its ever-evolving objective. And he calls himself a fiscal conservative? What we have here is a perfect fit. I say again: God save us from bipartisanship. *** Phillip Klein at the American Spectator wonders What is Gregg thinking? and shares some valuable notes from a conversation he had with Sen. Gregg last year: One thing that was interesting was that as of last July, when I asked Gregg about his experiences working with Obama in the Senate, he said he saw very little of Obama: He used to see him in the gym in the morning, and said Obama was in great shape. But he didnt see him on the floor much, because Obama started running for president so soon into his freshman Senate term. I dont know who he is or what he stands for better than anybody else, Gregg said. Hes a blank page.
Tell me again why anyone who is native to New York or New England could ever be considered a conservative? And yes, there might be a little bit of southern bias involved. I have not met anyone from north of the Mason-Dixon Line that I have ever cared for personally or politically.
A New England conservative is still a very left of center liberal to me.
Gregg and William Cohen underneath a tree, etc.
Hey, Judd, get your head out of your sandwich factory--your mama's a crypto-islamo-commie from Kenya.
When I suggested a Columbia run administration, I was thinking eric Cantor, not these fools.
This Sen. Gregg is one of those idiot Republicans who along with many idiot Democrats voted FOR that much-flawed amnesty bill back in Summer 2007.
Gregg is a turncoat, if he was ever on our team in the first place.
Obama is a plant.
You know. To give his cabinet that air of integrity.
There is a reason Jedd Gregg is a good fit for Obama.
He supports Obama’s primary policy and regulation and market goal, the stimulus is just an unanticipated interloper.
Judd Gregg has been a long time supporter of it.
I bet three of you can guess..
Of course they are going for 60 seats.
As would the GOP if they were in such a position.
Oh wait, that would require strong Republican leadership.
Never mind.
I thought McConnell solidified a deal where a GOP Senator would replace Gregg. Is that not the case?
I just think this is a naked bootleg to get a filibuster-proof senate.
It has zero to do with bi-partisanship.
Obama probably offered Gregg this gig in return for voting to confirm Geithner.
Ann Coulter's a Conn. native, and was born in New York, perhaps you should ask her fan club here who fawn over every word she says.
>> yes, there might be a little bit of southern bias involved. I have not met anyone from north of the Mason-Dixon Line that I have ever cared for personally or politically. <<
Not a fan of Ronald Reagan? You realize he was born and raised in Illinois, moved to Iowa to pursue a job as a radio announcer, and then spent his entire career in California, right?
>> A New England conservative is still a very left of center liberal to me. <<
That's okay, the trio of "Texas conservatives" running your state -- Rick Perry, John Cornyn, and Kay Hutchinson, seem like rather squishy Republicans to me, and I'm from Illinois. There were four candidates on the ballot for Texas Governor last time, and not one of them was a reliable conservative. Since Texas has so many more Republican voters than the northern states, what's your excuse for not nominating good conservatives?
