“You call that music?”
;-)
Thats what I’ve always thought when Springsteen comes up.....(chuckle)
I’ve always said overbearing John Mellancamp wants to be Springsteen when he grows up, and Springsteen wants to be Bob Dylan when he grows up.
And Dylan laughs at both of them.
I’m not a Dylan fan either. I used to be, but then I grew up.
(Just tweaking you.)
‘Im not a Dylan fan either. I used to be, but then I grew up.
(Just tweaking you.)’
I’m not either, the only song he ever did I appreciated was ‘Stuck on Blue’.
Sorry, no tweak here my friend...(chuckle)
Friend of mine got to know John Mellancamp a few years back when he put some of his artwork up for sale. His (my friends) mother and father are big time collectors (they have four orignal remington sculptures, for example).
They found him to be an absurd elitist snob...which cracks me up to this day, given his ‘routine’ on stage or in interviews.
There was no peach truck involved. That was all myth.
Thanks. So the album cover was a fraud, huh?
Dind’t know that.
No, it just had nothing to do with his death on the bike. He made a comment once in an interview, when asked what he was doing for peace, or the revolution, Duane said, every time he's in Georgia, he eats a peach for peace. The peach truck was all rumor and myth.
If memory serves, Duane hit a flatbed truck with a boom on it, that made a left in front of him, and the truck driver for some reason just stopped in the intersection while making the left, causing Duane to strike the flatbed.
Hmmm. Thanks, I had no idea. All these years I thought he hit a peach filled truck.

It Worked..thank you
There is so much more t;o the story. I was at the Dwyer’s
house that night. I was six. I will never forget it. My
dad helped Jerry (Hubert) search. This is a sad day for our family.
Thank you...the report is very interesting.
I'm so sorry JHENN22499! It was sad for so many but so much harder when you were actually part of the experience.
I just watched the video in post #33 and it's an amazing video, almost 10 minutes long.
Then I went and read Don McLean's lyrics for American Pie and what a story writer he was, it just encompasses so much.
That song has always made me sad when I hear it.
Steve Gaines. He was the third guitarist along with Gary Rossington and Allen Collins.
Thanks Drew. I saw the ‘Rossington Collins’ band down in Norfolk around 1979 or 80.
The pilot was no idiot. He only failed instrument rating due to hearing....more to the story..
