Drive-By Conservatives Misrepresent Sarah Palin's Position on the Stimulus

HotAir’s Allahpundit has made it known for quite some time that he is no fan of Sarah Palin. In the world of political discourse and debate, that is fine. People can have differing opinions and views on who would make the best candidates (I personally think that Sarah Palin has a great future in the GOP), what polices would be best, etc. The trouble is, Allahpundit is now taking his dislike for Palin and using it to cloud his judgement when reading any stories about her in the Drive-By Media.

Take a recent AP story, headlined GOP Governors Press Congress to Pass Stimulus Bill, in which it is said that the GOP Governors are at odds with the GOP members of congress, and are in favor of the Economic Stimulus Package. It lists Sarah Palin as meeting this weekend with Mitch McConnell to lobby for handouts for her state

I don’t argue with your point. I happen to like her, and she is my current favorite for 2012 (although I could be persuaded to go to someone else, but that remains to be seen). My beef with Allah is singling Palin out from among all of the governors (including Jindal and Pawlenty, both of whom have similar positions to Palin in this matter), and misrepresenting her stated position on the stimulus. He is free to like or not like Palin, but it does no one a service to attack her for a position she has not held.

My beef with Allahpundit is his dishonesty. He is smart enough to read and understand the facts.

To portray this as he did, he had to, at best, stretch the truth. At worst, he is a blatant liar who is trying to affect grass roots support for a powerful, new force in the GOP.

As it appears now, Allahpundit seems to be slinking down to the standards of Katie Couric journalism. I expect better from an employee of Michelle Malkin. Michelle is well researched and a straight shooter. I don't expect an employee bearing false witness on her site.
