Not at all! I'm sick of all this negative talk when a person hasn't even had a chance to do their job. People with attitudes like you posted here is what's destroying the Republican party and the conservative movement. No one is pure enough to please some of you.

all those histrionics because I have the temerity to wish for a more conservative RNC and point out Steele's moderate positions in the past.

we ran a moderate at the top of the ticket 2 months ago and folks yawned

you missed that?

further, becoming more like the Dems in order to win elections seems pretty stupid.

GOP as Dem Lite sounds good eh?

He's gonna get his chance regardless of my views so don't fret.

I agree .. I think this is just more of the liberal “marginalizing” they do of their enemies.

Just like they do with Rush.

You really are tedious.

Republicans are not responsible for McCain, cross over voters in NH and split votes between Romney, Thompson and Huckabee as well as people wanting to vote for the person the media "claimed" was the front-runner is why McCain won. Barr cost McCain Indiana and NC, ACORN cost us at least two or more other states. McCain was a horrible candidate and that had nothing to do with his credentials or lack of, it had to do with him and democrats and independents choosing him for us -- this is why I was against Rush's operation chaos, I didn't like them messing with us or us messing with them.

We will NEVER elect staunch southern conservatives in the NE or CA or OR or WA.. ain't gonna happen again in my lifetime... so my assumption is you are willing for the GOP to be irrelevant forever and Obama to socialize this country -- something we will NEVER step back from all in the name of purity.

The day he was picked, some people on FR developed a NEW derangement syndrome. This is a fairly recent phenomenon on FR, as even with John Kerry four years ago, the opposition was tempered with logic, but now, the behavior is more in keeping with Dem. Underground than here. It just doesn’t add up and I’m very sad to see it proliferating.

It is getting worse by the day and I, for one, would like to see it change.

I like him as well and cannot help think a few of these comments today are aimed more at his race than who he is as a Republican

LOL....which has nothing to do with why you are slobbering all over him.

Shrinks call that projection.

Tedious but troll.

You and yer Steelebot posse of big tenters have a nice Burning Man.

“we ran a moderate at the top of the ticket 2 months ago and folks yawned”

Folks didn't yawn, what happened was millions of blacks who had never voted before finally did. There is no way to deduce that a moderate didn't win because he was a moderate. How many conservatives do you know who voted for Obama?

I'm calling you an Obama cheerleader right now if you want conservative values to be "flushed". Put up or shut up.

Huck's main ideas are:

1) Abolishing the IRS and replacing it with Fairtax
2) Overturning Roe v. Wade and creating a culture of life
3) Respecting the second amendment and stopping more gun control legislation
4) Winning the WOT and giving out troops in Iraq and Afghanistan the tools they need
5) Drill for our own oil in ANWR and achieve energy Independence instead of begging middle east dictators for oil
6) Implementing a real border security bill with TEETH that will force illegal aliens out (one endorsed by NumbersUSA and the founder of the minutement)
7) Repeal McCain-Feingold, which has been a disaster for America
8) Standing for traditional marriage and do not recognize any union besides one man and one woman
9) Stop forcing public school programs on people and help families with charter schools, home schooling and school choice.
10) Fight all efforts to create universal health care mandated by “federal edict” or financed through higher taxes. Send health care back to the states for a “complete overhaul”, including policies that encourage the private sector to seek innovative ways to bring down costs and values the states’ role as laboratories for new market-based approach.

So you want that agenda flushed, eh? That's his main ideas for the country, so which of those do you diagree with and why? What offends you so much about the above platform? Cite specific examples where Huck is wrong on the above issues.

If you want the above policies "flushed", it is you who is ""not conservative" and yes, Obama whole heartily agrees with you on wanting the above policies flushed. He disagrees with Huck on every major issue.

Obama did not get as higher a black vote as conventional wisom holds volume wise....only a few points more though he did get 5% more to vote DEM pushing the usual 90% to nearly 96%

Where he truly scored was in mushy middle folks and youth. He motivated them in large numbers.

McCain got 4 million less than Bush 2004 did and overall 8 million more voted in 2008 for both sides so it stands to reason Obama peeled off many moderate 2004 GOP voters.....the what culture war bunch? and just ignorant folks

I believe Mac woulda done much worse without Palin who did generate some base support but for the most part Mac’s poor none hand behind the back campaign and lackluster debating combined with a super hostile media gave it to the greater speaker who go almost a full pass from the drive bys.

The very same bunch on the RNC national scene and punditry who backstabbed palin are gleeful over Steele.

I will be interested to see what Rush says though sometimes he4’s close mouthed to keep access and he does already have a big fight going with the Messiah.

for the record, my family gave nearly 6000 to the campaign and most went to Mac even though I personally can’t stand the guy.

not sure I’ll do that for another RINO, we may just have to crawl on our knees before we learn....sure looks that way from here.

He’s another COLIN POWELL.

He’s another J.C. WATTS.

BOTH were put in there because of their COLOR

and beimg MODERATE.

...........................

I am bemused by the silly attempts to paint Steele a moderate. He has no such bonafides. Everything he has said and done for the past 10 years has been main line conservative. This is just one more fraud perpetrated by the masters of fraud, the leadership of the democrat party.

Now that is funny! I happen to like Palin a lot. Alaska is still a conservative-leaning state as is MY state of Arizona, one of the last in the west with a GOP governor, senator(s), most congressmen, and actually increased our republican numbers in the state senate and legislature... how many other states can say the same in 2008!

I find it amusing that you insinuate that anyone who opposes Steele for ideological reasons must be latent racist at best.

Yet nearly all of us supported Blackwell from the getgo.

You do know he’s black too?

Nice jab at Southern conservatives too....aside from Mormons we’re about all that’s left
