We may want to remind ourselves of media and political coverage of past natural disasters because the media remains besotted with Team Obama, and... by the way it's day 7 of dozens of people freezing to death in the Midwest and where's the Obama government? ... Lets see whats the medias reaction to the catastrophe in Kentucky where more than 45 people have died during a global warming ice storm. ... Ed Driscoll has a fair headline: Obama Dozed, People Froze!
Headline via the The Sundries Shack, which asks, "Has anyone seen FEMA lately?"
It seems we have people dying by the dozens in the midwest, where they've been freezing to death for a few days. Local officials are calling out the Federal government for its notable lack of response.
But Bill Quick (found via Instapundit) believes that "'Where's FEMA?' is not the appropriate question":
The appropriate question is, "Where is the mainstream media, screaming in one united voice, that the absence of FEMA demonstrates the utter fecklessness and failure of the current President and all his policies?"
Plus his barely concealed racism, of course.

Commin back to bite them in thier arsses, remember Katrina all you crying, whining liberal criminals who now are in control?
Only if Republicans are in charge.
same treatment the Kulaks got from Stalin, to the applause of the NYT.
Nothing can interfere with the O team. They’re partying on down!
To hell with actually managing anything other than thinking up ways to destroy our country.
I just got this letter via e-mail from the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief organization. They are just getting to Kentucky today!
The whole country has had the coldest winter imaginable, it seems, and priority should be given to everyone, everywhere, who is without power. The RNC cut back it’s festivities back in September when the hurricanes hit; why isn’t there similar outrage over the Super Bowl festivities, while these Southerners are in peril?
Anyway, here’s the note:
Southern Disaster Relief Update - Saturday, January 31, 2009
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Southern Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers might not be able to turn the power back on but they are bringing the “Light of the World” into the darkness created by the ice storm that swept through the central part of the United States this week.
All of the affected states have their chainsaw teams out working to clear debris. In addition, State Convention Disaster Relief Leaders report the following activity.
Arkansas - Arkansas feeding teams are preparing meals in five locations. Chainsaw teams from the Kansas/Nebraska and Louisiana conventions are enroute to Berryville, and Louisiana Chainsaw units will be working at First Baptist Church Springdale. Louisiana shower trailers travelled to FBC Paragould and East Side Baptist Church in Mt Home on Saturday. NAMB Shower trailers will be setting up in Corning at the Community Center and at FBC Paragould while a Kansas/Nebraska unit is enroute to Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Berryville.
Kentucky - An Incident Command team will arrive on Sunday February 1st to begin operations out of the State Convention Office building in Louisville. Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief responded to a request for assessment help in Kentucky and have chainsaw teams assigned to Princeton, Cunningham, Hancock, Madisonville and Siloam. Tennessee has also deployed a Shower unit to support a shelter operation in Hancock.
Missouri - A Missouri Baptist Feeding unit is operating at First Baptist Church in Portageville, MO. Tennessee has sent chainsaw teams to Temple Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, MO just across the Tennessee/Missouri state line.
Oklahoma - Of the five Oklahoma feeding units in operation immediately after the storm only the East Central Feeding unit remains active and they expect to continue preparation of meals in Cookson, OK at least through Monday February 2nd. Chainsaw teams are working in Talhaque, Cookson and Westville where the work may continue for as long as three weeks.
Was Kentucky a Free State?
Help is now on the way! Ray ‘ School Bus” Nagin is steering a convoy of school buses northward with thousands of used Hurricane glasses and drink stirrers. This should alleviate any suffering imposed by our racist multi-racial mulatto communist dictator, O’dummy!
If you are referring to its slavery position in the civil war, it was a border state. That said, it still allowed slavery. There’s a good summary of KY’s position in the link below.

"Kentucky?! Never heard of it. Oh wait, didn't they go 57 - 41 for McCain? Ain't no ice here mofo."
FEMA is more problem then they are worth as we experienced in our ice storm of December 07 except we had the President tour the damage. Some people were without power in parts of Oklahoma for over a month.
For ZERO to do nothing but joke about schools closing in DC but they didn’t in Chicago, is sickening. The media is even more sickening.
We had all sorts of coverage on the hurricane that hit Galveston and the coast while Pres Bush was still in office as well.
ZERO = ZERO help!
can’t wait for the first country singer to go on a fund raising telethon and say: “barack obama does’t care about white people”. Seemed to help that little pos kanye worst’s career.
But, Kentucky isn’t one of the 57 (Islamic) states. /s
God Bless Baptist Church Ladies!
I firmly believe they should be put in charge of FEMA. Their organizational and mobilization abilities are phenomenal! It was the church groups that were on the Gulf Coast first and that did the most good.
If two Baptist church ladies with a van , a big pot and spoons and bowls are on the road toward you all will be well in short order. No matter how big the disaster!
And that’s coming from a Roman Catholic New Orleanian who’s been through a lot of hurricanes.
“George Bush does not care about black people,” Kanye West said in an effort to get people to actually listen to his music.
“Barack Obama does not care about white people,” Doug Ragan said in an effort to tell the truth.
Is it white guilt to vote for an Eclair that won’t help you in your time of need?
0bama could care less about the “whitey” population freezing in Kentucky and the MSM certainly won’t show many scenes of people huddled waiting for FEMA to help, so no public outrage.
