Am I the only one who noticed this? Do the chattering classes get their transcript of the Rush Limbaugh program from Media Matters? If you dont listen, you have no idea of what animates the Right, and the rump group of legislators that calls itself the Republican Party in Congress.
Obamas stimulus bill passed the House without a single Republican vote. Since polls show that Obama has an approval rating that far surpassed Mohammad in Riyadh, whats going on?
This afternoon, the lone Republican, Phil Gingrey, who criticized Rush Limbaugh in an interview with the Politico appeared on his show and practically crawled asking for forgiveness. Gingrey apologizes over Limbaugh
Gingrey not only called in to Limbaugh to apologize, he put out a press release.
As long as I am in the Congress, I will continue to fight for and defend our sacred values. I have actively opposed every bailout, every rebate check, every so called stimulus. And on so many of these things, I see eye-to-eye with Rush Limbaugh. Regardless of what yesterdays headline may have read, I never told Rush to back off. I regret and apologize for the fact that my comments have offended and upset my fellow conservativesthat was not my intent. I am also sorry to see that my comments in defense of our Republican Leadership read much harsher than they actually were intended, but I recognize it is my responsibility to clarify my own comments.
Ever magnanimous, Rush gave his absolution and suggested that the best thing for Republicans to do is to remain united in opposition to the Obama stimulus bill.

AND - made his supporters even stronger in their resolve!
Its Rush’s world, and we are just lucky enough to be part of it. Chuck Norris bows before Rush...
Must one be an unquestioning Rush fan in order to FRequent FR? I agree with a lot of what Rush says, but the fact that he’s been married 3x does not sit well with me as a conservative and a Catholic. Does that make me a troll?
it makes you less experience than those on FR who have been married 10 times. It also depends on whether or not you intent to throw the first stone over something so irrelivant to political commentary.
No, it makes you judgmental. Log/splinter.
We have reason to rejoice. Senate Repubs may not be 100% but most of them will be there.
Rush is sure to become much larger and his audience will double, as America wakes up to the antics of the Left, especially the Press.
I imagine that this Congressman who called Rush to apologize had been severely burned by his constituency and told his political career was over for speaking out against Conservatism and the Maja Rushie.
I see, then let he who is without sin cast the first stone....
How’s the World from up there on your perch in the clouds?
just fine thank you, I have good foundations on the ground.
next...
RUSH on CNBC bump!
the Rush/Obama stimulus plan to be discussed.
BTW email cnbc demanding MORE RUSH!
What a stupid comment. Are all Catholics “holier than thou” like you are? I think they are not!
In this day and age of “no fault divorce” there are many people who find themselves divorced who did not want it and could not prevent it. It is very uncharitable of you to hold this against him, since you have no clue about the circumstances of his divorce(s). Instead of being so self-righteous about this, you should just thank the Lord that your spouse has not just awakened one day and declared that he/she doesn’t want to be married anymore. It happens all the time and there is nothing that can be done to prevent it when the person wants out. The law doesn’t help, counseling doesn’t help, religious beliefs don’t help, nothing helps. Unless you have been there, you have no idea what you are talking about.
No, some self-proclaimed Catholics voted for Obama. And I’d say Rush is pretty holier than thou. Come to think of it, you seem to be, too. Just like a liberal. Don’t dare question immorality. It’s all good!
What's up wit dat?
Are you saying morals are separable from politics? Rush talks a lot about morality, it seems he threw stones before I did. I didn’t know there were so many mindless Rushbots on FR who applaud Rush dishing it out but can’t see him take it.
Three times? Sure, people make mistakes, or a spouse leaves, but three divorces? You have to wonder.
The family is the building block of society. Many young people don't seem to want to get married nowadays. Why is that? Is a fear of commitment good for society over all?
I truly believe that if we could get families to stay together, it would go a long way in fixing the rest of our problems.
Maybe Rush's wives were golddiggers - I don't know. He picked them. And probably went for who was "hot" rather than who was loyal.
I have a feeling that with your attitude you offend people everywhere you go but I accept your apology. My husband and I have been happily married for over 51 years so I know a little bit about commitment. I also know people make bad choices in their private lives and I don’t hold those choices against them.
