This quote is taken from the following transcript of remarks made by President Obama this morning regarding energy and the environment.
Setting aside what is rapidly becoming the regular nuance of his remarks, to be addressed shortly, the dearth of intellectual honesty in this statement is simply appalling.
The idea of leaving climate change unchecked implies that human beings have the capacity to control climate on planet earth. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Humans have never, cannot now and will never be able to influence the natural cycle of climate. We have not that kind of power. It would require that we be more powerful than the sun, the wind, the ocean currents and the earth's volcano's, just two name a few of the more notable influences on our weather. Sorry to disappoint, but even Obama is not that overwhelming.
Regarding nuance, note that he states that climate change "COULD" result in the various catastrophes listed. Of course it could since it has already done so in past planetary eras. But than again, if it could, it also couldn't.
He goes on to state, "These are the facts,...", raising the question: what are the facts? That climate change "could" lead to natural catastrophe? That is hardly a fact. It is more like a guesstimate. Here is a fact: climate on planet earth will change, as it always has...

Anyone who thinks it’s about climate change is clueless.
I’m not sure why the author wrote this piece. It doesn’t say anything that isn’t obvious. And it’s volcanoes not “volcano’s”

He fully realizes that it is an excellent method to foist socialism upon the people in the name of the “common good” and “saving the planet”.

Interesting too that he thinks states should have the freedom to set their own emissions rules. But when it comes to abortion, he is hell bent on signing this execrable Freedom of Choice Act, in which the federal government overrules any state laws on abortion. Such double standards to do the bidding of his special interest constituencies.
Unfortunately, much of what most people "know" simply isn't true.
Whoever the poor idiot is that wrote this is the one that is clueless, and it sounds like he is related to Chicken Little.
We are about to get billions voted to supposedly solve a growing problem with America;s finances, but in reality much of this money will be tossed away supporting the Global warming BS agenda.
Global warming is like the 2005 version of the Klondike Gold Rush. Too many are looking to make a ton of money foisting this scam on the world.
Believe it or not, but in the primary election Billy said that we could aid in the fight against global warming by “slowing the economy” to produce less carbon emissions! These idiots are scary because the real agenda is to get a good excuse to send all of our tax money to Asia, Africa, etc...to help THEM in the fight against global warming! And don’t think for 1 minute that the Dummies don’t know this. They simply lie as a means to an end.
