Michelle Obama was expected to wear either Maria Pinto, Thakoon, or Oscar de la Renta for the Inauguration ceremony, but the First Lady surprised us in a good way, when she chose a striking Isabel Toledo design.
The champagne yellow ensemble consisted of a gold-embossed coat and a yellow brocade shift dress with diamanté neckline. The coat was made of wool lace in a silk net, with silk radzimir underneath and a layer of pashmina for warmth.
Mrs Obama paired down her outfit with green patent Jimmy Choo ‘Glacier’ pumps and olive green gloves from J. Crew.

If they can criticize Sarah Palin for what the Republican campaign paid for clothing, we can at least keep a running tab on Michello Obama's spending. And if the designers are just giving clothes to the first lady, then I would count that as a bribe.
I don’t care for the color but the design is nice. Why isn’t she wearing it proudly though? She’s stooped over and looks angry on a very happy day for them.

CindyDawg, while I'm not making any excuses for Miss “...for the first time I am proud of my Country...” Michelle, I think she is a very insecure woman. Not only does she have a body the size of an average man, she also has that ethnic portion made even larger by her ‘pear shape’. She seems to try and make herself disappear (or appear smaller) with her posture, which only accentuates the protrusion of her lower body. While her arms are quite beautiful, the bad posture only dwarfs the better part of her figure.
Just an observation.
