When I see the $170 million Inaugural celebrations, I am reminded of “Belshazzar the king of Babylon. [He] made a great feast for a thousand of his lords, and drank wine in the presence of the thousand. While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. In the same hour the fingers of a man’s hand appeared and wrote opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace; and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king’s countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his hips were loosened and his knees knocked against each other…” Dan.5:1-6
While Belshazzar partied with the elite of his kingdom, he was totally unaware of the danger that was lurking outside. Darius the Mede, was about to overthrow the great Babylon and depose his throne. The king had lost all moral clarity, and failed in his responsibility to defend the welfare of his kingdom and his people. But he also took one other step: by using what was holy for his unholy pleasure, he had totally lost all moral authority to claim help from the Almighty.
While the elites of our country celebrated to the tune of $170 million, there are dangers lurking outside. Our country is in an economic crisis, unemployment is at 7%, folks are losing their homes, and yet the elites raise themselves as worthy of this great expense. We are country at War against Terror, our soldiers are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the elites ignore this, they don’t want to be troubled by it.
Why? This is the Left. There is no moral justification of using this astronomical amount of money in such dire times, no argument to appease criticism of it. There isn’t any justification of this orgy in the best of times. But the liberal elites feel that they deserve it. We are too stupid to think for ourselves, we are too helpless to help ourselves, and we need them to take care of us. They feel that this is a great responsibility that they have laid upon themselves, I mean it is awfully hard work to be an elitist - how could we be so unappreciative to complain about this? (Well, how can they blame us, maybe it’s because we are too stupid to be appreciative).
The Left has long lost moral clarity. But this new administration, that campaigned for change, and pledged to ”fix” the economy, has taken the step in losing all moral authority. How in the world does President Obama have the moral authority to ask taxpayers to come up with another 800 billion for his socialist stimulus plan, when the American people have already dished out the same amount for the bail-out? They have already spent half of it, but claim that they are unable to tell us where the money went. This is where we who are stupid and helpless respond, “Are you kidding me?”
It is hard to believe that a President can make such a poor decision in such dire times - where is his moral clarity? How can he claim to have the moral authority to execute his office as President of the United Sates, when he has squandered the holy - the trust of the American people?
Never forget how the DBM took “W” to task for spending $40 million for his re-election inauguration (money that comes primarily from donation, BTW), and, yet, nary a peep about the Obamessiah’s $170 million.

His actions shout! They are clear and consistent. What he will be in office is known by those actions.
If a man knows his own sense and respects the basis for this nation, he must then oppose Obama, and not wait to do so.
