The same can't be said of the Reverend Joseph E. Lowery, he ended his speech by taking the post-racial society and shoving it up the backside of white America.

At the beginning of the primary season, the African-American community was supporting Hillary Clinton. It was the WHITE community that made Barack Obama the Democratic Party Candidate.
So what does he mean by White Embracing What is Right? In my mind if white America embraced what is right, someone ELSE would have been inaugurated today. Did today's post-racial inauguration end with calling white America RACIST?

Most people are too intelligent to take Lowery’s crap seriously. He only appeals to those people who think everything any black does is wonderful.
Reverend Lowery is probably going to find himself under the bus in a matter of days.
I will embrace what is right. What is right is that a boy is respectful towards adults, works hard in school, becomes a man, gets a job, works hard and honest, and if he fathers children he takes care of them. End of lesson.

Lowery’s comments really were the turd in the punchbowl. When I heard of it, my thought was, “Oh great, everyone’s very worst fears just came true. Are we in for eight years of this kind of childist chip-on-my-shoulder race-baiting behavior?”
Recall Obama’s impressive comportment when Rush Limbaugh first started airing his “Magic Negro” spoof: Now, too few people knew the backstory on that, starting with a leftist L.A. Times columnist comparing Obama to a literary archetype of that name, and the Al Sharpton singing voice tweaking that worthy’s huffy behavior around that time. Instead, most folks just hear the ghetto accent and the song’s refrain and conclude that Limbaugh was being around-the-bend racist. But not Obama; asked about it, he just chuckled, said he could see the humor, and said he doesn’t get upset about such things. Impressive. That was the first time I thought, “Uh-oh, this guy could go all the way.”
Lowery should have borrowed a note from that. I’m very disappointed.
It was pretty tactless. They let a homo-phobe open, and a racist close. Not really the best picks to have speak.
Oh very soon the racists won't even consider him to be BLACK, they will point out that he is half-white, and therefore, "he ain't a real brutha!"

Lowery is a racialist who is permanently stuck in the 60’s. He can’t grasp the idea that if you save and invest (right now CD’s only) you will do fine. OTOH if you spend your money on liquor and lottery tickets you might not do so well.
I think "when black gets off of crack" has a better ring to it, and it's no more repugnant than the rest of his prayer.

I would hope, that the anti-defamation organizations representing Asian-Americans (who, presumably were targeted by the "yellow" reference, and who are statistically USA's most "successful" immigrant group) would SCREAM about how inappropriate Lowery's comments were.
Good. Very good; and completely Revolting.
But, how about "when white don't grovel for the po' black man's plight."
