President Bush became historian in chief Thursday night, delivering a farewell speech designed to frame his presidency as an era of accomplishment amid challenges and contesting his critics' more dour assessments of the "W" years that are reflected in sagging opinion polls. The president's five-page, 13-minute speech was intended to be "optimistic and future oriented," White House counselor Ed Gillespie said, aimed more at the American people than historians.

His “legacy” is two federal agents in prison for obstructing his open border policy. The fact that the open border policy included drug smugglers will just be a footnote to his legacy.

The two federal agents have had three separate legal reviews each affirming their convictions. It is just possible that there is more to this than you pretend to know.
