Various provinces and municipalities offer their officials the possibility to take the oath of office in an Islamic manner. Soldiers and civil defense employees can also take the oath for Allah, writes minister Guusje ter Horst (Internal Affairs) in response to a parliamentary question of SGP parliament member Van der Staaij.
According to her regional and local authorities way decide the formula of the oath according to the civil servant law. This is different than for police and national civil servants. They may not make the oath in an Islamic manner.

Call me crazy but methinks the ones that take the oath for allah don’t really have Holland’s best interests at heart.
If an oath is going to be in the name of a deity, wouldn’t it be logical for the deity to be one in which the oath-taker believes?
They should also be given other options, like (a) Whoopersnickle, (b) the Tree Being, (c) Piglet and so forth.
They can do this in America too.
Freedom of religion became a reality in America way before it was the cool thing to do. When it comes to civil rights, Europe is a mile behind us.
I remember B1 Bob Dornan called the Dutch army “a bunch of long haired hippy people holding hands.”
I wonder if Satan is an option? I mean besides Allah, his other name.
