There is evidence....
Honolulu Advertiser, Nov. 1, 2008 (””This has gotten ridiculous,” state health director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said yesterday. “There are plenty of other, important things to focus on, like the economy, taxes, energy.” So, in what likely will be a vain attempt to halt the inquiries, Fukino yesterday issued a statement saying that she and the registrar of vital statistics personally inspected Obama’s birth certificate and found it to be valid. Will this be enough to quiet the doubters? “I hope so,” Fukino said. “We need to get some work done.” Fukino issued her statement to try to stomp out persistent rumors that Obama was not born in Honolulu — and is therefore not a U.S. citizen and thus ineligible to run for president.)
that’s evidence of what ? exactly...
It is more than possible that Obama’s birth certificate is valid and that it does not indicate a birth in the State of Hawaii. If he were born there why wouldn’t Fukino come right out and say so in unambiguous terms?
Instead we have more obfuscation.
Obama could end it all by authorizing the release of his actual, true, archival Certificate of Live Birth. That is if it is as he says it is.
It is becoming harder and harder to believe that there is no fire with all this smoke.

The document Fukino and Okubo inspected was an email from PolitiFact of the BC Barry posted on the web in June. From PolitiFact look at what the conclusion actually was (in bold) when she was pressed, hardly a verification of the validity of the document:
The Hawaii Department of Health receives about a dozen e-mail inquiries a day about Obama’s birth certificate, spokesman Okubo said. “I guess the big issue that’s being raised is the lack of an embossed seal and a signature,” Okubo said, pointing out that in Hawaii, both those things are on the back of the document. “Because they scanned the front … you wouldn’t see those things.” Okubo says she got a copy of her own birth certificate last year and it is identical to the Obama one we received. And about the copy we e-mailed her for verification? “When we looked at that image you guys sent us, our registrar, he thought he could see pieces of the embossed image through it.” Still, she acknowledges: “I don’t know that it’s possible for us to even say beyond a doubt what the image on the site represents.”
Hopefully silly season won’t last too much longer. The Truthers are trying mightily to keep this afloat, no matter how many other sound voices, like Michelle Malkin;
