Where can I find another New World for religious freedom? I guess I will try and reclaim this one that my forefathers first claimed. Can I now be a neo-Pilgrim instead of a neoCon?
Congratulations! Which passenger? (Private Message if you’d like.)
I am a mayflower descendant, but I have never joined any group. What is this group you belong to?
I haven’t joined any, myself, but it looks like steve0 is referring to the Mayflower Society (http://www.themayflowersociety.com/member.htm).
So, which passenger? I hope there are no grudges from when my ancestor spilled his drink on you. He was one of those bitter ones, you know, clinging to his gun and religion. ;-)
(actually, I don’t think he was too religious... )
I don’t have Mayflower ancestry I’ve yet found but trace back to the other two organizations you mentioned, Charlemagne several different ways. Also DAR which I never bothered to join. I really don’t have that many illustrious ancestors; some people have a lot.
What's the $550 get you?
Umm, congratulations?
You too? Howland, Soules and their wives. Didn’t join anything though.
Both my husband & myself are from Digory Priest through his daughters. His is Mary and mine is Sarah.
I have 3 DAR guys. but never joined either. I met 3 women from there and they were nasty snobs.
Does this ruin my chances for elective office? Knights Templar then I lose the Muslim vote, right?
I don't know. Perhaps an official OC of C press release sent to your local paper announcing your blue blood. My sister is a member of DAR, Mayflower, Magna Charta, and Charlemagne. Her daughter-in-law is a professional genealogist. That apparently helps. A genealogist was able to show how Obama and Brad Pitt were kin.
I am a member of Moose and the VFW.
Heck, Barack Obama and Dick Cheney are kin...and why VP Cheney didn't request a copy of his relative's long-form birth certificate, we'll never know.
Dam near everyone is related going 9 levels deep, or back 900+ years.
Rediculous.
It's very interesting reading about how they came to be there and the hardships they endured. I was told that there are probably on the order of two million people that can make the connection if they try.
True, they sailed here to settle a new country free from Anarchy.
Now, 220+ yrs. later, anarchy was voted in by clueless Americans.
Go figure.
Yeah, and I don’t forget how your ancestor killed off my grandpa Abel! ;-)
Well, now that you mention it, I also have ancestors that fought in the revolution about 150 years after that. And then there's great great Grandpa who fought in the Civil War about eighty years later. Hmmmm..... There seems to be a pattern here.....
Lol, no doubt .. and you may find yourself fighting in yet another revolutionary war of sorts given the recent yet radical changes to expand government.
