An FBI Agent involved with the prosecution of Senator Ted Stevens is accusing prosecutors of gross misconduct in the execution of the case:

The complainant, a federal employee with “extensive knowledge of the investigation and trial in this case,” according to Judge Sullivan, also alleges that a member of the prosecution team schemed to relocate a witness to keep him from testifying and also intentionally withheld evidence from the defense lawyers. Judge Sullivan said the complainant is not a "stranger" to the proceedings and was "significantly" involved in the investigation and prosecution.

Stevens, the longest-serving Republican in the Senate, was convicted in October of filing false Senate financial disclosure forms. Based on the new disclosures Stevens lawyers are set to file for a new trial. Of course its too late to save Steven's Political Career:

This old goat has been feathering his own nest for decades now. How I wish we had Term Limits for senators and congresscritters. They may be honest when they first go in, but notice how most of them can retire filthy rich. And once they get rich, there’s never enough. They all want to live long enough to die in office instead of going back home and living under the rotten rules they help write.

Everything you said is all well and true.

But it sure seems that they only prosecute Republicans for these type of actions.

Ted will be exonerated eventually. The grossly corrupted first trial has gotten it intended results. upchuck schumer’s handpicked boy was able to defeat Ted on the basis of his perceived corruption trial. Now that begich has gotten the senate seat they will find Ted innocent because the election is over. Begich is ten times the crook that Ted is assumed to be. The lower 48 has once again determined Alaska’s fate.
