Rick Warren: Hatemonger
The Rabid Conservative ^ | 19 December 2008 | Rabid Conservative

The loony left is going bonkers over Obama's choice of Rick Warren to lead the invocation at his inauguration, and it's not just because his presence means one less ticket for an atheist minority homosexual union worker.

I've never given much thought to Rev. Warren's politics. I feel like he makes it a pretty big priority to come across as nonpartisan. Probably too big a priority in my opinion. He seems like a genuine enough person, though... and although I'm not nuts about him being there when the most pro-abortion president in history gets sworn in I'm not gonna blow a gasket over it.

The slobbering fruitcakes on the left, however, are positively apoplectic over Warren....

I don’t know what made the gays think that Obama was pro gay marriage. Either they were delusional or just plain stupid. At the VP Debate, Sarah said that she was anti gay marriage but for them visiting each other in the hospital, Joe Biden said that he and Obama feel the same way, what part of that did the gay community not get. Well, they had no issue hanging a Mannequin of Sarah on Halloween so Karma once again it’s a bitch for the gay community, you’ve been screwed by the guy you voted for, how does it feel!!

The funniest thing about this whole thing is Warren is really all that Conservative. When I heard it, I didn’t think anything of it.

And take note of his picks for Interior and Agriculture. ...”big government” Democrats as always, yes, but with a bit of an “old” twist, so far. ...hard to believe that he’ll go any further with that against the powers-that-be behind both parties, though.

The funny thing is that the homosexuals, communists and other democrats hate Rick Warren because he is a Christian.

Many Conservatives, like me, are angry and disappointed that Rick Warren is holding hands with such a dangerous and racist criminal like Obama.

Not quite sure what to say for Warren, but I certainly do not trust him or Obama.

The Leftists know he and Biden were lying. They fully intend to payoff the homo lobby - starting with the gayification of the military....then on complete normalization of homosexuality in public schools...as they round the corner on “marriage” via the courts that they will also own.

Obama, Biden, McCain, and Palin were all talking through their hands to one extent or another on gay rights issues. Obama is only notionally opposed to gay marriage, as he also opposed California’s Prop. 8. He wants credit from squishy Christians for opposing gay marriage while at the same time showing his true (rainbow) colors by opposing any practical legislative approach to banning it. Maybe he’s also opposed to abortion in the sense that if he were to get pregnant, he’d carry the child to term. Wow, I’m impressed. Similarly, McCain and Palin notionally support equal rights for gays except for the use of the word “marriage,”but this is likewise contradicted by their records: they have opposed concrete proposals to advance gay rights, and good for them; I loathe the idea of gay equality. However, McCain and Palin’s doubletalk is ultimately more dangerous because the culture has turned against conservatives big time on this issue, and with even Palin conceding most of the issue, we are well and truly screwed when the gay-loving Rats bring up the issue. It’s like some football game in the Twilight Zone were we start each series on defense, at our own one yard line. I’m just about resigned to defeat on this group of issues, but that doesn’t mean I like it.

Agreed. Warren is probably a decent guy and by no means will I question his faith or that of his followers, BUT... He strikes me as one of the leaders of the megachurch, feel-good, self-help wing of American Protestantism that doesn’t really do much for me. I don’t mean that as an insult, even. I just see it as a watered down brand of Christianity, the aim of which is to connect with as many as possible on an emotional level and appear largely ‘nonjudgemental.’ The approach is successful, of course, but the ‘be not of this world’ part of Jesus’ message has been lost.

I agree it is funny that the libs are angry about this guy. He’s fairly harmless on the Bitter Right-Wing Intolerant Jesus Freak scale.

I'm Glad that Pastor Warren comes off as non-partisan to some people. It shows that he puts his faith before political ideology. Because let's face it, some political ideologues don't give a damn about social conservatism. Let's putt God first because that's more important than any misguided party.

A cynical ploy to get evangelical christians to vote for Crats. And the Rev fell right in to the trap.

Since many states and municipalities have made them a “protected class” under their laws & regs. It’s stunning to think that we give preferential treatment to people based on how they have sex and who they have it with.
