My German Shepherd is afraid of chickens - 50 of them, anyway.

Great photo.

I’m betting that pup left it’s mark on you.

They adore my Basset Hound. See, I raise them up from chicks in our attic in a brooder pen. Every morning and evening Rufus comes to “check the chicks” with me, and they actually imprint on him.

When they’re older and out in the coop, he can walk in there and smell each and every one of them and they permit it. They aren’t the least bit afraid of him.

He’s their ‘Mother,’ LOL!

I vehemently disagree with you. I have cats that follow me around and sleep wherever I am at. They’re smart, clean, cover up their own poop and are far smarter than even the smarted dog I’ve had. I never had to change all the door knobs because the dog figured out how to use them.

Dogs are way too needy for my tastes, plus they’ll destroy your house if left home long enough.

who follow you everywhere “like dogs”

I had a cat, years ago, named Long John Silvers (he was the most amazingly big, grey, long furred cat). When I would get home from work at night, he would greet me in the driveway, walk me to the door, just like a dog.
