ABC News is reporting that Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. is "Senate Candidate No. 5" mentioned in the FBI Affidavit unveiled yesterday against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. In the video above, Jackson was interviewed today by ABC News and denied as an "impossibility" that he, or anyone on his behalf, offered money to Blagojevich in order to be named the next U.S. Senator from Illinois . . . . . No kidding. What’s he supposed to do? Admit it?
If this story is true, it will have to be pulled out of him like a bad tooth.
I’ll take “Corrupt Politicians with Fake Reverends for Fathers” for $1000, Alex.
I thought the Capone familia was no longer operating....
If they have it, the feds need to PLAY THE TAPE!
Are you kidding??/ Jesse Jackson made Capone look like a schoolgirl in his shakedowns. Capone would just kill you....Jesse RUINS you and your company by labelling you a RACIST if you don’t PAY TO PLAY!
That river in Egypt is swelling.
Jackson Jr. said he was asked to meet with the FBI and would do so after talking to his lawyer.
I heard on Fox News yesterday that there are so many lawyers with “connections” in Illinois it’s tough for these guys to find a lawyer to represent them who doesn’t have “history”. Ha!
It’s only been a day and things are unraveling already. Obama denies ever meeting with Blagojevich. Then the word comes out that Axelrod says he did. Then the Obama camp and Axelrod claim Axelrod “mispoke”. Then it’s shown in stories on November 5th & 8th that Obama indeed did meet Blagojevich, possibly at the office of a common campaign contributor. Then a news story surfaces about Durbin acting as a go-between between the two camps on the Senate seat issue. All this in one day. What’s a lying crook gonna do? I tall ya, it’s just not fair.
The money wasn't offered, it was promised. Big Difference. HaHa.
I actually thought that maybe he was working with the FBI but I’m beginning to think that he isn’t or he’d come out and admit it to save face. Ooops, he’s screwed.
Gosh, obama is the president-elect, he didn’t think anyone would know? We sure have a smart there, don’t we?
Yes, but presumably all the tape says is that Blago says that Jesse’s people offered X.
Unless they can prove as a fact that Little Jesse offered something, the mere fact that Blago says he did is not enough.
So someone in Little Jesse’s camp will need to sing. What are the odds of that happening? What kind of pressure can the Feds bring to bear on Little Jesse’s underlings? Won’t they all circle the wagons around him, to say nothing of the racism defense?
Oh, and I forgot to mention that a news story also comes out that claims Obama has called for Blagojevich’s resignation (or removal...or whatever), but the statement made by a spokesman says nothing of the kind. We’re now into Clinton era parsing. More fodder to speculate about. Good Lord, what will tomorrow bring?
I’m sure that the FBI’s wiretap transcripts will reveal the truth very soon, and Jesse Jr. will ultimately be sharing some cell space with Blagovejich and Ryan for bribery and lying to federal investigators.
Politicians still haven’t gotten a handle on how easy it is for the general public to find things out on the Internet. For that matter, neither has the MSM. What goes out there stays out there. Well, for the most part. And if it’s been out there, it will be discovered at some later date.
JJJ is not going to spend time in jail.
She's loving this as much as us. So's Bill.
Wait and see..if it means sacrificing him to save Obama, then he’s toast.
And next Monday the Electors have to elect the President. Fitz’s jumping the gun on this to help clear The One just stinks. If he had let this investigation run its course, in 2009 we’d have an indicted President Obama.
