BOSTON Me-ouch! Veterinarians performed an unusual surgery to reattach the face of a cat they believe was injured by a car's fan belt, probably because she tried to stay warm under the hood.

I know there are a lot of animal lovers here. I just wanted to post this as a reminder to take a minute and bang on your car hood before starting the engine, if your car is kept outdoors. Cats love a warm engine.
We had a cat when I was a kid who had a large chunk of fur taken out this same way. He lived and it grew back.

when I was growing up, there was a wild cat who had a litter and one night they decided to crawl up on the engine in my dads car. he went out the next morning, turned the key and that was the end of mama and as I recall 2 of her kittens..3 lived, but one was in really bad shape..
