Once again anti-gunners try to curtail shooting sports by registering ammunition purchases and taxing honest gun owners to pay for a proven fruitless exercise.

How about putting criminals behind bars and keeping them there? Perhaps that's to simple. We had ammo registration in New York when I was growing up. Experience showed that the system did virtually nothing to lower crime rates or to assist in criminal prosecution. Thankfully the registration and recordkeeping was dropped.

And tell me...

Do you think gangbangers will have a hard time getting ammo?

And who's going to come to my door to confirm that I've turned in all my non-registered ammo?

Barry's armed civilian "enforcement" league that's equally funded as the military. And, if they don't like the answer you give them when they come for your ammo and God knows what else, it's off to the re-education camp for you. Get with the program. Dear Leader is here to stay.

They don’t honestly care about your ammunition. It’s nice that they can charge with possession of such if they want, but the point is to create a stealth registry, and a database with detailed knowledge of who owns what type of weapon. If you purchase 5.56mm it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what sort of weapon you likely have.

After all there is no point to the coding unless they know who it was sold to.

And might I ask . . . Are they planning to regulate people who reload as well?

"Private citizens and retail outlets would be required to dispose of all non-coded ammunition no later than Jan. 1, 2011."

The thought of those jackasses even dreaming of that being enforced is just hilarious. Time to purchase some loading tools I suppose...

Better yet why don’t they make us put our names on our bullets? I don’t know about this!

Sounds like an invitation, if you ask me.

Fat chance.

And you can’t make me.

Why don’t they just make everyone use Jocelyn Elders’ Safer Bullets?

Only slightly off topic, but I’m starting to get a little concerned about 7.62 x 39 ammo.

I picked up an AK for my son for Christmas. I just checked Aim Surplus and Cheaper Than Dirt and they both seem to be out of it.

Are you guys/gals seeing a shortage of 7.62 x 39 on a local level?
