I knew it was only a matter of time before they went after Usenet. There’s more copyrighted material available there than anywhere else.

Some ISP’s have already done away with the binaries hierarchy, and I suspect eventually the MPA will sue to shut down the independent providers.

Still not quite seeing how the MPA plans on winning the case. Independent operators make the reports, they are indexing newsgroups that are world wide. But it gives lawyers something to do, and I’m pretty sure that Newzbin will succeed in defending off the case. Not that they’ll win, just that the MPA just doesn’t have a case against them.
