What? I thought I read somewhere that he was using Ubuntu. Zune will work with Ubuntu.. I feel like I said something in a foreign language.

Zune is the only one that has a tuner built in.

Almost all Sandisk players have an FM tuner built in. I think I've used it once, just to make sure it works. The while point of using an MP3 player IMO, is to not be chained to someone else's playlist or the top 40 radio dreck.

I prefer to think of it as having more than just what I’ve recorded instead of being chained to something.

IPhones are even better. You can stream hundreds of radio stations over WiFi or cellular. Amazing technology.

Well, obviously some folks find the feature useful, or they probably wouldn't provide it. :-)

I've just never really found a need. On my sansa, it takes 4GB micro SD cards, so I can carry around more stuff than I could possibly listen to. When I want to swap playlists, I swap the card out.

Everyone has their own preferences though, which is why there are so many styles and brands.
